The Safety Specialist will be responsible for ensuring all activities comply with local, state, and federal safety regulations. This role plays a critical part in protecting workers, minimizing risk, and promoting a culture of safety across the project site.\nResponsibilities\nImplement, promote, and enforce safety policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA). \nConduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.\nInvestigate incidents, near misses, and accidents in conjunction with Wohlsen safety team.\nMonitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure compliance among workers and subcontractors.\nCoordinate and lead site safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety training sessions for all team members.\nCollaborate with project managers, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure safety requirements are integrated into daily operations.\nMaintain up-to-date safety documentation, including records of inspections, training, permits, and incident logs.\nStay informed on new safety legislation, technologies, and industry best practices.\nProvide recommendations to improve site conditions and reduce potential hazards.\nEnsure emergency response plans are in place and conduct drills regularly.\nQualifications:\nMinimum 3-5 years of construction experience in safety & health management required.\nCHST, ASP, CSP or other safety certification preferred\nCertified OSHA 30 \nKnowledge of construction industry contract documents\nCommunication skills (verbal/written) \nProficiency in Microsoft Office products\nHave a valid driver’s license and be able to travel and work additional hours as necessary to meet company goals. Be able to maintain confidentiality and be client and team-oriented.\nPhysical Requirements\nIn a normal day, this position requires the employee must be able to stand, sit, walk, and drive for 4-6 hours. Employee must be able to lift/carry up to 20 lbs. maximum; frequently lift/carry up to 10lbs. In this position, employee occasionally (0-33%) must be able to bend at waist, squat the knees, climb (including ladders), reach above shoulders, kneel, crawl, use feet (foot controls), and/or work at heights above 6 feet.\nSafety Sensitive\nSafety-Sensitive positions are any jobs that include tasks or duties that the employer reasonably believes could affect the safety and health of the employee performing the task or others.
