This role leads the Engineering team and serves as a trusted technical authority to Operations, Maintenance, Asset Integrity, Commercial, and Projects, in addition to supporting longer term strategic initiatives.\n\nThis leader must bring the judgment and credibility to challenge assumptions, set technical direction, make or escalate risk-informed decisions, and remain accountable for the engineering systems that protect people, the environment, production, and asset value. The role connects immediate operating needs with long-term asset strategy and ensures engineering work is fit for purpose from problem definition through commissioning and operating handover.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nReporting to the Vice President, Operations NGL, and working closely with Operations, Commercial Operations, and Commercial Development teams, the key responsibilities of the role include:\nProvide technical support to key stakeholders in the Wolf operations and maintenance teams in support of Wolf Recovery and Feedstock Separation facilities\nPromote an organizational culture that ensures safe, compliant, and reliable operation of assets\nLead and provide supervision, guidance and mentoring to engineering team members\nAct as a Responsible Member under Wolf’s APEGA Professional Practice Management Plan (PPMP) and ensure all APEGA requirements are met\nManage engineering activities relating to the operation and integrity of facilities, including regulatory functions\nSupport Operations teams by executing multi-discipline, sustaining capital, and management of change projects\nCoordinate and execute sustaining capital projects through all stages of the project lifecycle from identification and scope definition through to execution and closeout\nLead engineering design, estimating, project planning and scheduling\nSupport planning and delivery of facility maintenance, regulatory and turnaround schedules\nSupport major projects through the project lifecycle, including design, construction, commissioning & startup and the transition into operations\nDevelop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations. These problems may include safety, quality, capacity, cost, or regulatory compliance issues.\nLead the Risk Management and Management of Change Operations Management System elements for NGL\nSupport the development of capital budget and long-term forecasts\nTravel to field sites to provide development, coaching & mentoring to engineering staff\n\nQualifications and Experience\n\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering is preferred, although other engineering disciplines may be considered\nRegistration as a professional Engineer with APEGA\nA Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is considered an asset\n\nExperience:\nA minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible owner-operator engineering experience, with preference given to candidates with direct NGL experience\nDemonstrated technical leadership in operating facility support, brownfield modifications, troubleshooting, process safety and capital project development and execution\nKnowledge and experience of industry related safe work practices, codes, standards, regulations and professional practice obligations relating to oil and gas infrastructure in Alberta\nExperience in industrial rail yard and loading operations\nProject management experience in small projects to major capital expansions\nMust consistently strive for personal and operational improvement including the ability to upgrade required skills and competencies\nResults orientated with the ability to work without supervision and can manage many concurrent unrelated activities\nIndustry related Safety training\n\nSkills:\nMust possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nSuperior computer skills\nDemonstrates strong leadership development, coaching and mentoring of engineering staff.\nAbility to manage and execute on multiple projects\nExperience in proactively managing external engineering providers in the delivery of projects throughout the various planning and execution stages\n\nRewards\nCompetitive compensation with eligibility in our bonus programs\nComprehensive benefits\nEmployer matched savings plan\n\nInterested candidates should submit resumes at www.wolfmidstream.com.
