The project aims to transform paid childcare from a job of last resort into a vocation of choice, and to make the sector one of economic prosperity for women in Malawi and Kenya. In Malawi, it is being implemented in Blantyre and Lilongwe. To this end, WOLREC seeks to recruit a Programme Manager.\n\nJob Summary\n\nEmployer: WOLREC\n\nJob Type: Full-time\n\nLocation: Blantyre, Malawi\n\nCategory: Management\n\nClosing Date: 2026-11-11\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nCoordinate and oversee day-to-day project implementation and ensure activities are delivered on time\n\nOversee annual and quarterly work plans, activity schedules and implementation strategies\n\nPromote a positive, inclusive and collaborative working environment, and identify staff training needs\n\nBuild and maintain relationships with government, civil society, development partners and other childcare sector actors\n\nCoordinate high-quality monthly, quarterly, annual and donor reports\n\nFacilitate learning and knowledge-sharing, and document promising childcare models and practices\n\nEngage stakeholders to integrate paid childcare into policies and development frameworks\n\nEnsure compliance with donor requirements, organisational policies and national laws\n\nPerform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director\n\nRequirements\n\nA bachelor's degree in social science, community development or rural development, with at least 5 years' experience in managerial work.
