We’re looking for people who know their craft, are curious about the business, and want a hand in improving how the exchange works.\nAbout the role\nWe’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to maintain and develop WOO X’s data platform. You’ll build the pipelines and data models that make exchange data reliable and useful for analytics, reporting, and day-to-day business decisions.\nThis is a hands-on individual contributor role with a focus on platform engineering. You’ll work with engineering and business colleagues to understand how data is produced and used, address quality issues, and make the platform easier to maintain as requirements evolve.\nWhat you’ll do\nBuild and maintain batch and streaming data pipelines using Python, SQL, Kafka, and Spark.\nDevelop and operate Airflow workflows, including scheduling, dependency management, retries, and recovery.\nDesign and maintain data models and warehouse datasets for analytics and reporting.\nImprove data quality and freshness through validation, monitoring, and investigation of upstream and downstream issues.\nOptimise pipeline and query performance, and manage processing and storage costs.\nWork with data users to define datasets and metrics, and document data flows, transformations, and dependencies.\nWhat you’ll bring\nData engineering experience within crypto or Web3, including responsibility for production pipelines or a data platform.\nStrong Python and SQL skills, with experience building maintainable data processing workflows.\nHands-on experience with Airflow, Kafka, and Spark.\nExperience with data warehouses, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data modelling.\nThe ability to investigate data discrepancies, troubleshoot pipeline failures, and resolve underlying causes.\nThe ability to work independently and communicate technical details and business requirements clearly in Mandarin.\nNice to have\nExperience at a centralised crypto exchange, particularly with trading, order, or account data.\nBI experience, including supporting dashboards, defining metrics, or preparing datasets for business users.\nStrong English communication skills.\nWorking with us\nThis role is fully remote within APAC, with Mandarin as the team’s main working language. You’ll work on a data platform connected to the daily operations of a crypto exchange and help colleagues get dependable answers from its data.\nIf you enjoy building data systems and understanding
