This opportunity is on-site in Pasadena, Texas.\n#LI-Onsite\nThe Role\nAs the Design & Document Control Lead you will be responsible for leading a group of mixed discipline designers and document control personnel supporting small facility-based projects in an active chemical manufacturing plant as part of that plant’s capital projects group.\nDesigning the future. We are focused on developing strategic relationships with our clients, providing solutions that deliver efficiency, integrity and reliability.\nWhat we can offer\nMeaningful and interesting projects delivered to leaders of industry across Operations Americas sector\nFlexible working arrangements that balance client, team and individual needs, offering onsite working\nCompetitive salary with regular salary reviews to ensure we are rewarding at the right level in line with the market\nFlexible benefits package that can be adapted to suit your lifestyle \nCommitment to continued professional development through development plans tailored to individual needs and interests\nGlobal connections with leading industry experts around the world who are shaping the standards of our profession\nAuthorization to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship required\n Meet or exceed the company’s safety standards.\nComply with all company procedures, engineering practices and other standards.\nManage the design and document control groups at the site.\nWork with staff, department Management, and Project Managers to understand the current and future project workload of the group and assign design resources to support that workload. \nAssist with development of resource schedules and long-term forecasts for the group, understand and escalate the need for additional headcount when the forecast for the portfolio calls for it.\nWork with project teams and management to understand priorities and then assure that your team is focused on those.\nUnderstand the site and the capital project load well enough to develop a strategy for the design and document control groups which you can then implement to drive success for the site.\nReview and gatekeep requests for design support. \nDrive design estimates and schedules for projects.\nMonitor the design process and create change orders when required. \nIdentify and maintain metrics to drive continuous improvement of work processes. \nOnboard new designers and document controllers when they start.\nTrain the design group in new processes and procedures.\nProvide guidance to your group around best design approaches and work quality.\nReview, understand, and update existing practices, procedures, and tools used to manage design activities at the site.\nIdentify needs and develop new tools and methods to improve the design efforts of the group.\nDrive improvements to document control work process. \nAssure that the design group provides design support for capital and service projects in a fast-paced environment.\nAssure that the design team applies company and industry standards to generate high-quality construction packages.\nPerform evaluations of work performed by members of the design group.\nWork closely with plant engineers, contractors, and team members to achieve project success.\nManage document control to organize the digital and paper documents and to retain them going forward in an organized manner and per company retention policies. \nPartner with global resources for continuous improvement in document control and designer software and tools. \n What makes you remarkable?\nAt Wood, we are committed to equal opportunities and welcome all talented individuals to consider joining our team.
