Salary range for this position is CAD $97,000 - $120,000 per year. We are committed to ensuring fairness and inclusivity by relying on the expertise from a team of professional recruiters for the application reviews, interviews, and qualification assessments.\n Typical Responsibilities\nServe as the intermediate electrical engineer on a project, working under a senior engineer, primarily on Canadian and US projects\nWork and communicate effectively within a team of Electrical and I&C engineers and designers, as well as interface with other engineering disciplines, project management team, clients and vendors.\nReview and develop Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (EIC) designs for the detailed engineering phases of projects.\nReview and develop deliverables including, but not limited to, schematic and wiring diagrams, single line diagrams, cable tray, lighting, equipment layouts, heat tracing, electrical lists, power quality and protection studies, and calculations to support designs.\nOn small projects, review and develop I&C deliverables including, but not limited to, PLC and DCS panel drawings, instrument loop diagrams, junction box wiring diagrams, fire alarm system risers and layouts, instrument indexes, I/O lists\nAuthentication (P.Eng stamping) of project discipline deliverables\nPrepare equipment procurement packages, including the development and/or review of specifications and datasheets, evaluate technical bids, meet with vendors and review vendor documentation.\nAssist in the preparation of construction contracts and scope of work.\nAttend site visits to collect data as required for projects.\nParticipate in the development of scope, budgets, and schedules.\nEnsure quality by monitoring that team’s deliverables meet client and company standards.\nProvide regular reporting to management and client regarding the electrical team progress and performance with respect to scope, schedule and budget.\nCheck the design work of others and provide technical feedback.\nBalance and meet deadlines on multiple ongoing projects.\nApplicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the Canada without sponsorship from Wood, now or in the future.\n What makes you remarkable?\nAt Wood, we are committed to equal opportunities and welcome all talented individuals to consider joining our team. It will take all of us working together to deliver solutions to the world’s most critical challenges.\nExpected:\nElectrical Engineering (BSc) degree\nMust be registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in the province of British Columbia or have the ability to transfer Canadian P.Eng from another province.\nAuthorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required.\nMinimum of 8 years of engineering experience, primarily responsible for supporting consulting projects for mining, metallurgical or similar process industries.\nKnowledge of CSA and IEEE standards including the Canadian Electrical Code and how to apply them to designs.\nEffective communication, organization and time management skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume and deadline-driven environment.
