This role is responsible for leading all cost control activities across assigned projects, providing robust financial governance, accurate forecasting, performance analysis and commercial insight to support successful project delivery.\nThe successful candidate will provide leadership and technical direction across project cost management activities while partnering closely with Project Managers, Project Controls Managers, Planning, Procurement, Finance and Client teams.\nWood Minerals & Metals team is currently delivering critical metals projects, including Copper, Nickel, Lithium, Vanadium, Rare Earths, and Base Metals. This portfolio of projects ranging from studies through to EPCM packages working on developments in Australia and internationally - Australia through to Europe, Middle east Africa and Asia.\n#LI-Hybrid or #LI-Remote\n Working across studies and projects, the focus of your role will be to create delivery excellence across any assigned project portfolio, provide certainty and confidence to the client(s) whilst maintaining robust financial governance, accurate forecasting, performance analysis and commercial insight to support successful project delivery\nAs a key part of our team, you will undertake the following duties, which will not be limited to: -\nLead and coordinate all project cost control activities across assigned projects and study portfolios. \nProvide leadership, mentoring and technical guidance to Cost Controllers and Senior Cost Controllers. \nEstablish and maintain project cost control procedures, systems and reporting processes. \nEnsure compliance with Wood project controls standards, client requirements and governance frameworks. \nPrepare and maintain accurate project cost forecasts throughout the project lifecycle. \nAnalyse actual costs, commitments, accruals and trends against approved budgets. \nPrepare and present regular project cost reports, dashboards and management summaries. \nLead project change control processes and ensure cost impacts are accurately assessed. \nSupport project risk workshops and cost risk assessments. \nWork collaboratively with Planning, Risk, Procurement, Contracts and Finance teams. \nAct as the primary cost control focal point for assigned projects. \n Your career will have seen you have grown through the resource sector, working across a range of projects leading towards a focus within project controls and cost management. Your career will have seen you build tenure within a project delivery environment, with understanding of the establishment and execution of studies and medium to large scale projects.\nIn addition, you will have:\nExtensive experience in project cost control within the minerals and metals, mining, or energy sectors. \nDemonstrated experience leading cost control activities on medium to large-scale capital projects. \nExperience across studies, FEED, execution and commissioning phases. \nAdvanced capability in project budgeting, forecasting and cost reporting. \nStrong experience with Earned Value Management principles and performance measurement. \nExcellent stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills. \nValid working rights within Australia\nBenefits on joining #TeamWood\nWood is at the forefront of engineering solutions for a net zero future.
