In this role, you will perform hydraulic, hydrologic and engineering analyses, field inspections, planning, and design work under supervision or general direction towards the completion of Water Resources projects.\nThis is a staffed, hourly, non-exempt position.\nA day in the life as a Wood Rodgers' Engineer\nPlan, analyze, and design public works and civil infrastructure projects, including storm drainage, flood protection, and related improvements. \nPrepare engineering calculations, construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, bid documents, and Civil 3D models to support successful project delivery. \nManage projects and complex design tasks, and coordinate with project managers, clients, agencies, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to meet project schedules, budgets, and quality standards. \nEvaluate design alternatives and develop practical, cost-effective solutions that comply with applicable regulations and engineering standards. \nSupport projects through planning, design, bidding, and construction, including technical reports, field investigations, design reviews, and construction assistance. \nProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices, standards, and team performance.\nQualifications & Skills\nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, with 6+ years of experience in the planning and design of municipal public works infrastructure. \nProfessional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure within six months of hire. \nProficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and experience preparing construction plans, design calculations, technical specifications, quantity take-offs, and engineer’s estimates. \nStrong knowledge of civil engineering principles, municipal infrastructure design, public agency standards, and project delivery processes. \nDemonstrated ability to manage design tasks, coordinate priorities, and deliver high-quality work on schedule and within budget. \nEffective communication and collaboration skills, with experience mentoring junior staff and working with multidisciplinary teams. \nStrong organizational skills, attention to detail, sound engineering judgment, and commitment to continuous professional growth. \nProficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with GIS, Bluebeam, and related engineering software is a plus.\nA note on hourly pay ranges:\nThe range does not reflect geographic variations and may fluctuate above or below the stated amount.
