This opportunity is offshore Newfoundland and Labrador, working on a regular rotation.\nThe Role\nLocation: Offshore Newfoundland and Labrador\nSite / Office based: Terra Nova FPSO \nHours of work: 12 hours per day\nRotation / work pattern: 21 day on - 21 day off rotation\nRequired: Site specific medical, drug and alcohol testing\nUnionized position: Rates follow the Collective Bargaining Agreement\nYou will be working in confined spaces and/or at heights, as well as noisy conditions. Typical responsibilities:\nMonitor and control various FPSO systems\nOperate the thruster assisted positioning mooring system\nHandle cargo and ballast operations, and distribute and control inert gas to cargo and ballast tanks\nSupport crude oil washing operations\nOversee shuttle tanker operations during cargo transfers\nMaintain awareness and control of field traffic movements\nMaintain communications with the production control system operator\nParticipate in the emergency response team\nMaintain GMDSS radio watch from CCR (Nightshift)\n Skills And Qualifications: What makes you remarkable?\nRequirements\nA High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)\nTwo or more years of experience with tanker and exposure to the offshore oil and gas environment\nExperience in dynamic positioning systems and Canadian East Coast ice management procedures is an asset\nChief Mate Unlimited certification \nRestricted Radio Telephone certificate with Global Maritime Distress and Safety System\n(GMDSS)\nCrude Oil Washing certificate and Inert Gas certificates would be assets\nMarine Emergency Duties (MED) \nEffective verbal and written communication skills\nPreference for:\nBachelor’s Degree in Maritime Studies or Diploma in Nautical Science\nSpecialized Oil Tanker Endorsement (level two)\nRigging and Banksman certification \nTrained as Coxswain \nKnowledge of helicopter landing operations and aviation weather reporting\nOther important information\nMust pass a site-specific drug and alcohol test, as required by the customer\nMust be able to safely lift and carry up to 50lbs\nMust possess enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above\nAble to meet physical requirements of frequent walking,
