It involves the construction and operation of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility on the previous Woodfibre pulp mill site, which would have a storage capacity of 250,000 m3 and would produce approximately 2.1 million tons per year of LNG.\nWoodfibre Management Ltd. is a privately held Canadian company based in Vancouver and a subsidiary of Pacific Energy Corporation Limited.\nPosition\nThe Senior Planner is an integral part of Woodfibre LNG's dynamic team. You will be responsible for managing the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) Contractor on behalf of the Company to ensure that all project activities are planned, scheduled, and executed in alignment with the Company's objectives and contractual requirements. This role involves developing comprehensive project plans, monitoring progress, and ensuring all project milestones and deadlines are met. The Senior Planner will work closely with the Company, EPC contractor, project managers, stakeholders, and team members to coordinate efforts, manage resources, and drive successful project outcomes. The successful candidate reports directly to the Project Controls Manager and will play an essential part in supporting the Company's engineering and senior management team through the project's construction phase.\nKey Responsibilities:\nThe successful applicant will:\nDevelop and maintain comprehensive project schedules, including tasks, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall project timeline and objectives.\nCollaborate closely with EPC contractors to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, and identify the necessary resources for task completion.\nTrack project progress, monitor deviations from the schedule, and update project plans to reflect any changes in scope, timeline, or resources.\nPrepare and present regular status reports to company and internal stakeholders, ensuring clear and timely communication.\nIdentify potential project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and communicate risk management plans to company and EPC contractors.\nFacilitate regular project meetings to ensure effective coordination among team members and EPC contractors.\nFoster effective communication and collaboration across project teams, addressing any resource constraints or issues, and ensuring optimal utilization of personnel, equipment, and materials.\nOversee the EPC contractor’s resource management and compliance with project requirements, including conducting regular reviews and audits to ensure quality and adherence to contractual obligations, industry standards, and project requirements.\nAddress non-compliance issues promptly and effectively, and evaluate project planning and scheduling processes to recommend improvements and incorporate best practices and lessons learned from previous projects.\nStay current with industry trends and advancements in project planning and scheduling to continuously enhance project management practices.\nRequirements\nRequired Experience :\nBachelor's degree in project management, engineering, business administration, or a related field.\nProven experience in project planning, scheduling, and management, involving EPC contractors, controls with heavy budgeting, cost forecasting, change management, cost estimating, scheduling and risk management experience.\n15+ years of project experience in major capital projects in the oil and gas industry, LNG project experience a plus.\nProficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, PRISM, etc.).\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nPMP or other relevant project management certification is a plus.\nAdditional Requirements:\nExperience working with large multi-disciplinary teams and contractors in a multicultural environment is an asset.\nCommunication/interpersonal skills -
