Their success is determined by the positive way in which they communicate, cooperate, interact and contribute towards achieving Woodstream’s goals and objectives.\nManufacturing Technician II’s are responsible for and capable of setting up tooling and equipment and optimizing equipment uptime anywhere in the plant. They are capable of responding rapidly to situations to meet production plans and service the requirements of our customers, not only in their primary area, but plant wide.\nManufacturing Technician II’s are responsible for quality, throughput and safety. They participate both as team members and team leaders in solving problems and implementing solutions to increase Woodstream’s manufacturing productivity\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:\nRegular attendance and punctuality required \nAssist Manufacturing Engineers in improving the performance of equipment and processes and participate in the implementation of ideas that reduce downtime and improve overall productivity.\nAssure equipment availability and readiness to meet the production schedule requirements and throughput rates for workcenters throughout the plant.\nMaintain uptime on all production equipment to meet throughput rates on a consistent and reliable basis.\nDiagnose machine problems quickly, perform effective troubleshooting of equipment, tools and process to maintain production of machinery. Provides technical support to others, as required.\nComplete set ups in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with all scheduled production requirements.\nAssure that spare parts are stocked and available for immediate use, to minimize downtime. Fabricates new parts from raw stock using machine tools when required.\nRecords and maintains data on performance of equipment, tooling and processes in a concise, accurate method and communicates exceptions to other team members.\nProvides quality instruction, education and support to other Manufacturing Technicians and production operators.\nDemonstrates safety awareness and executes safety policies and procedures at all times. Ensures the safety of others by sharing of knowledge as it pertains to our facilities, equipment and employees.\nMaintains a safe and orderly work environment, wherever duties are performed.\nAssists in any/all other areas as directed, to meet the needs of Woodstream’s customers. \nOTHER FUNCTIONS:\nPerforms other duties as assigned \nEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/OTHER SKILLS:\nHSD / GED required.\nAdditional training/education, up to and including a 2 year associates degree in a technical discipline.\nAn understanding of intermediate math skills including geometry and trigonometry.\nProficient with various measurement tools.\nProficient with a variety of machining tools.\nThe ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.\nHas attained additional skills/proficiency in areas such as:\nWelding/Fabrication\nHydraulics\nPneumatics\nElectrical/Electronics\nPLC programming\nSet-up/troubleshooting, repair and maintenance experience in a machine based manufacturing environment. \nPROFILE:\nAbility to keep several projects moving forward at the same time.\nSelf-motivated, able to work with little supervision.\nAble to work with and receive direction from many individuals besides his or her direct supervisor.\nEffective problem solving skills.\nInitiative to pursue changes in the work place that provide a competitive advantage.\nProvides input to insure continuous improvements throughout the plant.\nAbility to understand and work with company wide priorities.\nExcellent communications skills.\nDesire and ability to help others improve their technical skills. \nFABRICATION/MECHANICAL:\nAbility to fabricate machine structures and support members.\nAbility to fabricate components for mounting of equipment, tooling, or devices.\nAbility to dismantle, rebuild, refurbish, or install equipment.\nAbility to read a variety of engineering and schematic drawings.\nRepair and lubricate machines.\nHas attained additional skills/proficiency in areas such as: Welding (tool steel, cast iron, aluminum), Hydraulics, Pneumatics, and Electrical/Electronics \nELECTRO/MECHANICAL:\nEnsure that all production equipment is maintained in a state of electrical/mechanical readiness to respond to scheduling requirements.\nTroubleshoot any production equipment and/or facilities electrical malfunctions in an accurate and timely manner, and restore such equipment to a state of readiness as quickly and as efficiently as possible.\nPerform mechanical setups and changeovers as required.\nInstall properly sized electrical services for new and relocated manufacturing equipment in a safe and compliant manner.\nMaintain a current working knowledge of Electrical Codes and Regulations, as they apply to the Woodstream facility and manufacturing equipment.\nHigh skill in reading and understanding electrical schematics and translating that knowledge to physical circuitry.\nExperience in PLC and PC ladder logic programming.\nWoodstream is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer committed to recruit, hire, train and promote without regard to race, color, religion, creed, age, sex, national origin, marital status, union affiliation, disability, sexual orientation, or any other legally protected characteristic.\nNote: If hired, Employment Eligibility Verification will be carried out upon selection.
