This position reports to the Engineering Team Leader and is responsible for designing and engineering fire suppression systems and/or fire alarm systems for various complex facilities such as commercial high rise, mission critical data centers and high-reliability infrastructure.\nWe are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. This allows our engineers to stay abreast of the latest industry trends and technologies, broaden their expertise, and network with industry peers.\nMentorship programs where senior engineers guide and support junior staff, providing invaluable insights and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.\nCareer advancement through personalized career path planning and regular performance evaluations, ensuring that each team member's progress is recognized and rewarded.\nOpportunities to take on new challenges, lead projects, and expand skill sets, further enhancing personal and professional capabilities.\nWhat You Will Bring:\nMust have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or related field and 5 or more years related experience, including fire protection systems design and product design for complex buildings such as mission-critical data center environments.\nRegistered Professional Engineer (PE) in Fire Protection Discipline.\nFamiliarity with applicable codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, IBC, local fire codes) and regulatory compliance requirements.\nProficiency in Revit used for creating detailed fire protection drawings and models.\nUnderstanding of engineering principles relevant to fire suppression, fire detection, alarm, and control systems.\nExperience with fire alarm, mass notification, fire suppression, fire pump, hydraulic calculation, special suppression, smoke control/exhaust, and fire-resistance rated construction.\nExperience with smoke control rational analysis, CONTAM or CFD modeling, or other modeling software.\nExperience designing fire protection systems for mission-critical facilities such as data centers, hospitals, or industrial plants is highly beneficial.\nAbility to interpret technical specifications, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and communicate design intent clearly in written and verbal form.\nStrong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in an on-site environment.\nAble to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries from clients, regulatory agencies, and members of the business community.\nMentally and physically capable of performing all essential duties required of the position.\nWilling to travel to project sites or offices, as needed.\nBenefits You Will Love\nCertified as a Great Place to Work, Woolpert is one of the fastest-growing architecture, engineering, and geospatial companies in the world.
