We are seeking a Transportation Roads Condition Assessment Technician Intern in Oregon for the Summer Quarter (May- September).\nThe Transportation Condition Assessment Technician Intern (Geospatial Field Intern) will be working alongside Woolpert professional engineers, condition assessment experts, transportation advisors and BLM staff collecting and processing survey data. Some projects could be assisting with GIS, completing transportation PASER analysis, performing aggregate depth analysis and data collection.\nThis internship is an onsite role. Woolpert does not provide housing or relocation for internships/co-ops.\nWe are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants must already possess work authorization in the country the job is located.\nWhat you will do:\nWorking as part of the integrated Roads Condition Assessment Field team and transportation program\nProviding support and learning to plan field assessment processes with senior staff\nWorking directly with client under supervision of senior management to validate schedules and plan for approval\nGaining real-world experience collecting data in the field with licensed professional engineers and condition assessment experts\nAssisting with the collection and processing of data for the Bureau of Land Management\nbased on government rate. Company credit card will be supplied for all hotels and flights.\nWhat you will bring:\nMust be enrolled as a student at an accredited college or university, with at least sophomore status\nMust be studying engineering, forestry, or related field\nMust be willing to work outside in the field, no matter the weather conditions or environment\nGeneral understanding and willingness to learn various survey equipment and Trimble Business Center Software.\nPerform tasks and solve problems with a high degree of independence\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nAbility to function well in a collaborative, team-oriented environment\nExceptional multitasking and time management skills\nMust be willing to travel when needed through the duration of the internship, as this project requires 2 weeks in the field and is part-time as needed.\nMust be able to pass a background check and drug screen prior to employment\nAble to drive GMC2500 vehicle with camper\nAbility to backdown mountain sides with limited visibility, turn vehicle around in extremely tight locations.\nAbility to lift 50+ lbs. and operate a jackhammer and use a pickaxe to core roads.\nHave no fear of heights or motion sickness due to extremely curvy and mountainous ranges.\nNo fear of wilderness areas for long periods of time.\nUnderstanding that no cell phone use will be used during the assessment periods, as focus is required.\nPossess credit card or funds to pay for food for a two -week period as government per diem is paid back at the end of your extended stay\nBase pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.\nPay Range\n$23—$27 USD\nFind out more about what Woolpert has to offer here: http://woolpert.com/about-us/\nWoolpert is an equal-opportunity employer.
