This position would be aligned with our office in Coral Gables, FL and would support full-time in-person or hybrid working arrangements.\nThis position is responsible for leading engineering projects; overseeing project scope and schedule, performing Mechanical HVAC and Plumbing engineering technical work on complex projects, mentoring staff, applying proficiency in designing, analyzing, and reviewing Mechanical & Plumbing systems to ensure safety, sustainability, and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, technical expertise, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Applicants must already possess work authorization in the country the job is located. #LI-SN1\nWhat You Will Do as a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Woolpert:\nLead the design and development of mechanical HVAC and plumbing systems from concept through construction documentation and supporting construction administration.\nPerform heating and cooling load calculations using industry-standard software such as Trane Trace 3D Plus. \nPerform technical review and QA/QC reviews to ensure the delivery of code-compliant, and high-quality engineering deliverables\nDevelop and modify models, plans, details, and drawings of mechanical and plumbing engineering systems and components according to established standards and modeling techniques.\nIn depth knowledge of energy modeling using modeling software and techniques, including COMcheck and EnergyGauge.\nSupport career development and technical skill advancement of team members.\nConduct training sessions for internal employees when necessary.\nPersonal & Professional Growth\nAt Woolpert we place a high value on personal and professional growth, offering various opportunities for development within the engineering team:\nTeam members have access to continuous learning programs, including workshops, seminars, certifications, and participation in professional membership organizations. This allows our engineers to stay abreast of the latest industry trends and technologies, broaden their expertise, and network with industry peers.\nMentorship programs where leaders and senior engineers guide and support junior staff, providing invaluable insights and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.\nCareer advancement through personalized career path planning and regular performance evaluations, ensuring that each team member's progress is recognized and rewarded.\nOpportunities to take on new challenges, lead projects, and expand skill sets, further enhancing personal and professional capabilities.\nWhat You Will Bring:\nBA/BS or MA/MS in related field and 10 or more years related experience.\nRegistered Professional Engineer (PE) certification required.\nMinimum of three (3) years of experience leading engineering projects.\nExpertise in the design and application of complex air-side and water-side HVAC systems, including chilled water and condenser water systems, cooling towers, boilers, pumps, AHUs, DOEAS, RTUs, VAV Systems, CRAC/CRAH units, and energy recovery units/systems. \nExperience with building HVAC system design for commercial, mixed-use, healthcare, aviation, hospitality, and/or high-rise preferred.\nExperience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and HVAC controls, including development of control diagrams, sequences of operation, and control narratives. \nExperience designing sustainable building systems, including familiarity with LEED, Green Building Institute, or other sustainability credentialing.\nExcellent presentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills.\nExpert verbal and written communication abilities for both internal and external relationships.\nExperience with discipline related software applications and calculation tools.\nSubstantial experience designing in Autodesk Revit 3-D modeling software and directing the preparation of construction documents.\nExperience conducting and leading QAQC and coordination of design documents between disciplines.\nAbility to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents including scientific and technical journals, handbooks, and industry information.\nProficient in use of MS Teams, OneDrive/SharePoint, and MS Office suite.\nAbility to provide effective responses to sensitive inquiries from clients, regulatory agencies, and/or members of the business community.\nAble to write technical opinions, articles, and thought leadership social media using original or innovative techniques or style.\nMentally and physically capable of performing all essential duties required of the position.\nWilling to travel to project sites or offices, as needed.\nBenefits You Will Love\nCertified as a Great Place to Work, Woolpert is one of the fastest-growing architecture, engineering, and geospatial companies in the world.
