Then Woolpert is seeking you! Woolpert is hiring a Survey Intern to join our Survey and Geospatial team for the 2027 internship program. This full-time internship provides students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting field and office surveying operations while working alongside experienced survey professionals on a variety of infrastructure, transportation, aviation, utility, and geospatial projects.\nAs a Survey Intern, you will assist with collecting, processing, and analyzing survey data that supports engineering design, construction, mapping, asset management, and community development initiatives. You may contribute to boundary and topographic surveys, control surveys, mobile and terrestrial laser scanning, UAV support operations, GIS data collection, transportation asset inventories, and other geospatial projects that directly impact the communities where we live and work.\nThis intern will be a full-time position for both field and office operations out of multiple locations with opportunities to travel. Woolpert does not provide relocation assistance for interns.\nWoolpert is unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants must already possess authorization to work in the country where this position is located.\nWhat You Will Do\nWork as an integral member of a survey field crew and project team.\nAssist licensed surveyors, survey technicians, and geospatial professionals with field data collection activities.\nOperate and learn advanced surveying technologies, including GNSS/GPS receivers, robotic total stations, digital levels, data collectors, terrestrial laser scanners, and UAV-related equipment.\nSupport topographic, boundary, utility, construction, and control surveys.\nAssist with establishing photo control points and ground control for aerial mapping and remote sensing projects.\nCollect, organize, and process survey data using industry-standard software and workflows.\nSupport the development of maps, plats, reports, and survey deliverables.\nFollow established safety procedures and maintain a strong commitment to workplace safety.\nCollaborate with project teams while developing professional problem-solving, communication, and technical skills.\nWhat You Will Bring\nDon't have all of these qualifications? We encourage you to apply if you believe this opportunity is a good fit.\nCurrently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in surveying, or related field. \nFamiliarity with surveying principles, field procedures, and coordinate systems.\nExposure to GNSS/GPS equipment, total stations, laser scanning, or UAV technologies.\nExperience with surveying and design software such as Trimble Business Center (TBC), AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation/OpenRoads, ArcGIS, etc.\nAbility and willingness to work outdoors in varying terrain and weather conditions.\nStrong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.\nSelf-motivated with a willingness to learn new technologies and processes.\nStrong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to travel as needed during the internship.\nValid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.\nBase pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.\nPay Range\n$23—$27 USD\nFind out more about what Woolpert has to offer here: http://woolpert.com/about-us/\nWoolpert is an equal-opportunity employer.
