We value teamwork, a welcoming environment, and a culture where people help each other succeed while continuing to grow and improve - and we make sure to have fun along the way.\nAbout the Role\nAs an Accountant on the Corporate Accounting team, you will play an important part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of Workday's financial records. This is a hands-on role where you will take ownership of key accounting processes, collaborate across multiple teams, and contribute to meaningful improvements in how we work.\nIn this role, you will be responsible for:\nAnalyzing financial data and applying accounting judgment to prepare journal entries for accruals, reclassifications, adjustments, and other items required by management\nOwning month-end reconciliations end-to-end - investigating variances, identifying root causes, and partnering with cross-functional teams to drive timely resolution\nPerforming flux analysis for balance sheet and P&L accounts, providing clear, well-supported explanations of variances in monthly activity\nPartnering closely with FP&A, Procurement, Prepaids, Treasury, International Accounting, External Reporting, and SOX teams to resolve accounting questions and ensure accurate recording of transactions\nIdentifying opportunities for process improvement and simplification, and driving them to completion to build efficiencies across the team\nSupporting SOX compliance and monitoring efforts, proactively flagging and helping remediate control gaps during audits\nBuilding trusted relationships with business partners, acting as a go-to resource for accounting questions\nSupporting other Corporate Accounting areas and initiatives as priorities evolve over time\nAbout You\nBasic Qualifications\n4+ years of experience in accounting, with a solid foundation in US GAAP\n4+ years of experience using a large ERP system\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience\nOther Qualifications\nThorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), with the ability to apply these principles to ensure accurate, consistent, and transparent financial statements, as well as to stay current with changes or updates to these standards\nProficient in Excel, including formulas and pivot tables, along with familiarity with Google Workspace tools (Sheets, Docs, Drive, Slides)\nComfortable using AI tools to support accounting analysis and drive efficiency in day-to-day work\nDetail-oriented, with the ability to manage complex information, spot errors or inconsistencies, and maintain a high level of accuracy and consistency across all work\nSkilled at identifying and improving processes, using analytical tools to measure performance and find opportunities to enhance efficiency and productivity\nAnalytical and solution-oriented, with the ability to understand underlying processes and bring thoughtful recommendations to the team\nOrganized and effective at managing tight deadlines, delivering timely and accurate work in a fast-paced environment\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to share ideas clearly and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams\nFlexible and open to learning new things, with an enthusiasm for growing in a dynamic, evolving environment\nPublic accounting, software, and/or SaaS industry experience preferred\nOur Approach to Flexible Work\nWith Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote.
