We are a team that values curiosity and creativity, and we are energized by exploring how AI and automation can transform the way Workday delivers value to customers and internal teams alike.\nAbout the Role\nAs our Data Engineer within the VAM team, you will support, oversee, maintain, and develop a portfolio of enterprise tools (bought and built), AI agents, and dashboards used by thousands of our Workmates and partners in go-to-market functions-covering areas of automated customer-facing asset creation, attribution and impact measuring, benchmarking, reporting, and more.\nPrimary Responsibilities\n\nDesign and build technology architectures to capture, manage, store, and utilize structured and unstructured data from internal and external sources.\nDevelop infrastructure to automate connections between enterprise systems and tools.\nTake cloud-code prototypes built by team members and develop them into production-ready web applications deployed on GCP.\nApply ETL techniques to connect, prepare, and manipulate large datasets from a variety of sources.\nRoute data appropriately using distributed structures, database technologies, and applicable storage forms as required.\nBuild and maintain relationships and work closely with technical teams to ensure proper support and access for the Digital Support Center.\nWork closely with stakeholders across the globe (including senior leadership) to ensure business challenges are directly addressed through technology solutions.\nSupport reporting, education, and ongoing development of the team to ensure effectiveness in a dynamic market.\nAbout You\nBasic Qualifications \n\nMinimum of 4 years of professional data engineering or software development experience.\nMinimum of 3 years of hands-on experience scripting, building data pipelines, or developing application backends using Python.\nMinimum of 2 years of experience building, deploying, or managing cloud infrastructure and applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).\nMinimum of 2 years of hands-on experience modeling, querying, and managing data within Snowflake.\nProfessional fluency in English (written and verbal). \nOther Qualifications:\n\nExperience building, deploying, or integrating AI/ML tools, LLM APIs, or AI coding assistants into production workflows.\nHands-on experience building reports and interactive dashboards using Sigma connected to Snowflake.\nHands-on experience developing or managing services on Amazon Web Services (AWS).\nExperience working within a multinational company or supporting global cross-functional stakeholders.\nApplicants will be requested to provide work samples and demonstrate the ability to perform key aspects of this role as part of the interview process.\nWorkday Pay Transparency Statement (For EU Locations Only)\nListed below is the base salary range applicable to this position.
