We are often remote from one another but that doesn’t stop our sense of collaboration, supportiveness, and fun!About the Role\nAs a Payroll Functional Consultant in Professional Services, you help customers successfully deploy and adopt Workday in the area of Payroll. You work across the full project lifecycle: understanding customer policies and agreements, designing future-state processes, configuring Workday, running workshops, testing solutions, and supporting customers through go-live and stabilization.\nYou collaborate closely with project managers, other functional and technical consultants, and customer stakeholders. Depending on your level ( P3 or P4), you will own increasingly complex workstreams, customer conversations, and solution decisions, while contributing to the continuous improvement of our Payroll assets, templates, and best practices. As a Functional Consultant, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of Workday's product solutions. You will provide your implementation expertise to our clients while understanding how to best configure and test Workday solutions to meet their business requirements.\nAbout You\nYou are energized by working with customers to translate real-world workforce scenarios-payroll cycles, leave policies, shifts, and schedules-into robust, compliant Workday solutions. You like structure and repeatability (methodology, templates, tools) but are also comfortable handling ambiguity and tailoring within a framework.\nYou communicate clearly, build trust quickly, and take ownership of your deliverables. You are curious, collaborative, and open to feedback. Above all, you care about delivering outcomes that are technically sound, compliant, and genuinely helpful for employees, managers, and operations.\nBasic Qualifications - P3 Payroll Functional Consultant\nExperience & background\nTypically 3-6 years of professional experience, with at least 2-3 years in consulting or leading system/process implementations in Payroll\nHands-on experience configuring and delivering solutions in Workday or a comparable workforce/payroll application.\nExperience owning a functional workstream or module within a payroll project \nBasic Qualifications - P4 Payroll Functional Consultant\nExperience & background\nTypically 6+ years of professional experience, with significant time in consulting and leading complex implementations in Payroll.\nDemonstrated experience as the primary functional lead for one or more end-to-end Workday (or equivalent) deployments in Payroll domains.\nExperience engaging with senior customer stakeholders (HR, Payroll leadership, Operations, HRIS/IT) on design decisions and roadmap.\nagement).\nOther Qualifications\nAbility to travel up to 30% of the time.\nDirect experience with Workday Payroll including country-specific variants.\nCertifications or formal training in Workday Payroll\nFamiliarity with labor law, leave regulations, or collective agreements in at least one country.\nExperience in industries with complex workforce patterns (e.g., manufacturing, retail, healthcare, hospitality, logistics).\nExperience in global projects (multi-country payroll/time implementations).\nAdditional languages beyond English, depending on region and customer base.\nOur Approach to Flexible Work\nWith Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote.
