Paradox's AI assistant streamlines tasks like screening for minimum qualifications, instantly scheduling interviews, answering common candidate questions, and more through simple, frictionless mobile, chat, and text message-driven experiences to allow recruiting and hiring teams to spend more time with people and less time with software.\nAbout the Role\nAs a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of critical capabilities where security, accuracy, scalability, and performance are essential.\nYou will own features end-to-end-from design through launch-working closely with peers and cross-functional partners to clarify requirements, assess risks, and make tradeoffs that support long-term quality and maintainability.\nIn this role, you will:\nDesign and deliver secure, scalable, performant, and observable product features.\n\nStreamline shift-left development by championing AI-agent and automation integration to refine requirements, assess risks, analyze designs, and enhance test planning, coverage, and defect identification.\n\nLead projects from technical design through implementation, testing, rollout, and follow-through.\n\nInvestigate and resolve production issues via root cause analysis, regression risk assessment, and durable fixes.\n\nUse production data, metrics, and service health signals to find and prioritize improvement opportunities.\n\nIdentify and reduce technical debt that impacts reliability, scalability, or developer productivity.\n\nMentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and day-to-day technical guidance.\n\nCollaborate across teams to manage dependencies and ensure smooth, low-risk launches.\n\nOther duties which are assigned by the Employer or authorized person of the Employer.\n\nAbout You\nBasic Qualifications\n7+ years of software engineering experience developing and delivering scalable, high-availability cloud products.\n\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).\n\nOther Qualifications\nStrong collaboration, communication, and ownership mindset, with the ability to work effectively across teams and drive outcomes.\n\nAbility to mentor engineers, provide clear technical guidance, and support well-reasoned design and implementation decisions.\n\nStrong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and Object-Oriented Design applied to build scalable, maintainable systems.\n\nExperience with Python/Django is an advantage.\n\nAdvanced programming skills and a track record of delivering clean, well-tested, and secure code.\n\nExperience with architecture and system design, including secure design patterns, performance optimization, scalability, and safe rollout strategies.\n\nStrong testing mindset and hands-on experience across unit, integration, end-to-end, automated, and regression testing, combined with a proactive approach to production incident resolution.\n\nExperience in leveraging and driving AI and automation tool adoption across the full development lifecycle to innovate, improve engineering efficiency.\n\nExperience defining and driving monitoring and observability strategies using tools such as Datadog to analyze production metrics and service health.\n\nExperience with cloud systems and data stores, including high I/O databases (such as Redis, Aurora), event streaming or queue systems (such as RabbitMQ), and core AWS services.\n\nExperience with modern source control practices and workflows, and comfort working in a fast-moving, production-focused environment.\n\nGood verbal and written English communication skills.\n\nOur Approach to Flexible Work\nWith Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote.
