In this role, you will serve as an individual contributor responsible for designing, building, enhancing, and maintaining a suite of industry-leading products that power FactSet's Portfolio Services and Managed Services business.\nYou will work closely with cross-functional teams including Product Development, Analytics Engineers, and Team Leads to deliver high-quality, performant, and scalable software solutions that drive transparency, data integrity, and operational efficiency for our clients. You will take ownership of complex technical initiatives, contribute to solution design, and help improve the scalability, reliability, and maintainability of our applications.\nThe Buyside Services Engineering team drives the evolution of workflow and process monitoring tools that are critical to FactSet's managed and co-sourced operating model offerings.\nOur products provide:\nEnd-to-end transparency from client data integration to processed data consumption\nData validation and accuracy assurance at every stage of transformation and enrichment\nPresentation-ready outputs for performance, risk, and reporting operations\nManaged Services capabilities that shift the burden of data and process management from clients to FactSet's domain experts\nThrough continuous innovation and dedicated expertise, we empower clients to focus on their core competencies while we ensure the integrity, timeliness, and quality of their analytical operations.\nWhat You'll Do\nDesign and develop complex features, enhancements, and technical solutions across our applications\nOwn development activities from technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support\nCollaborate with Product Development to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable and maintainable technical solutions\nContribute actively to technical design discussions and evaluate solutions for performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability\nIdentify opportunities to improve application performance, stability, scalability, and technical health\nDiagnose and resolve complex production issues, identifying patterns and opportunities for preventative improvements\nBreak down larger technical requirements into well-defined development tasks and deliverables\nWork with the Product Development team to prioritize and resolve production and development issues\nChampion engineering best practices through code reviews, automated testing, documentation, and thoughtful technical design\nShare technical knowledge and provide guidance to less-experienced engineers through code reviews, troubleshooting, and day-to-day collaboration\nWhat We're Looking For\n3-5 years of hands-on software engineering industry experience\nStrong Python proficiency with a demonstrated track record of building production-grade, client-facing systems\nStrong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles, software design patterns, and maintainable application architecture\nProven experience designing and building RESTful APIs and backend services\nStrong JavaScript/TypeScript experience with the ability to build and maintain modern web applications\nExperience with JavaScript-based frontend frameworks such as Vue.js, Angular, or React\nHands-on experience with frontend and backend testing frameworks such as Jasmine, Karma, Puppeteer, pytest, and unittest\nStrong database design skills with hands-on PostgreSQL experience, including schema design, query optimization, indexing strategies, and relational data models at scale\nExperience working with large datasets using Polars or equivalent dataframe libraries\nExperience implementing caching strategies for query results and metadata\nExperience with service-oriented architectures and developing applications composed of multiple interconnected services\nAbility to troubleshoot complex application and production issues across multiple components\nExperience independently delivering complex technical work while collaborating effectively with Product and Engineering partners\nB.Tech / M.Tech in Computer Science or equivalent educational background\nGood to have\nPractical experience with AWS services including SQS, Lambda, and ECS\nExperience with microservices architecture and distributed systems\nUnderstanding of failure handling and resiliency across service boundaries\nExperience designing parallel or asynchronous workflows to improve throughput and resource utilization\nExperience working with large-scale data systems and balancing latency, throughput, and cost\nUnderstanding of multi-tier architectures and orchestration across multiple backend systems\nExperience with rate limiting, throttling, and client quota management\nExperience with D3.js and interactive data visualization\nExperience with graph databases such as Neo4j and graph-based data modelling.\nWhat's In It For You \nAt FactSet, our people are our greatest asset, and our culture is our biggest competitive advantage.
