May be required to assist other operators as a helper on other machines as required. This is a cross functional position within the Sheet Metal department.\nSet up and operate a hydraulic press for routine established work\nAccurately set up and install pem hardware using a press machine\nSelect correct tooling for the job task with setup documents or supervisor/lead assistance\nLoad, install and correctly set up the tools required with some assistance from supervisor/lead\nMust read and understand layouts, job packets and blue prints for parts being fabricated, even if it is a repeat job. This includes understanding of dimensions and tolerances of finished parts\nPerform assigned work to time standards and quality expectations\nSafely operate a forklift to handle materials and completed work\nProperly Identify gauges\nMaintain customer tolerances +- .030\nFollow traveler process and confirm quantities\nMake routine decisions and use problem solving to resolve basic manufacturing issues or seek assistance\nParticipate in press and tooling preventative maintenance at the operator level\nOther duties as assigned\nQualifications and Education Requirements\nIncumbent shall have a strong metal press forming and basic fabrication background as well as basic knowledge and understanding of fabrication, hydraulic press and/or punch operations including basic set up. A minimum of two years’ experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly desired. Must be competent at basic dimensional measuring and able to quickly learn the use of precision measurement tools while demonstrating competency in basic shop math.\nPreferred Skills\nAbility to lift up to 50 lbs\nAbility to stand for 8 hours per day\nRoutine bending and squatting to get parts off pallets and return finished parts to pallet\nAbility to follow directions\nBasic ability to read and understand blueprints and other shop drawing aids\nAbility to work with various types of metal forming constraints with guidance\nAbility to operate a forklift\nFlexible and responsive with a strong teamwork orientation\nGood verbal and written communication skills\nDesire to learn new skills and improve technical knowledge\nStrong orientation toward continuous improvement\nAbility to work well in a fast paced environment to meet team expectations\nCommitment to quality and accuracy of work performed\nAbility to work around moving machines, equipment safely\nAbility to use hands and arms\nStrong work ethic\nAbility to work in cold/hot work environment and concrete floors\nAbides by company policy on matters related to civil rights of employees (e.g., sexual harassment, ethnic harassment, etc.)\nWork Environment:\nA warehouse setting with concrete floors may also be presented. The temperature will vary with the seasons (hot/cold). The use of stairs may be necessary, yet an elevator is available.
