Parman Tech, Inc., a company that originated at NIST, is making its second technical hire.
We are looking for a Ph.D. level experimentalist with creativity and tenacity to be an
essential component of our R&D effort. You will initially work under our Chief Technology
Officer, Dr. Douglas Doughty, but with success you will have ample opportunity to take on a
leadership role, even Chief Technology Officer. Main components of our technology
include an optical cavity locked to a single-frequency, single mode, 532 nm laser, a
microfluidics system, and the electronics and software to control both. You will be
expected to learn new things, find new solutions, and implement them under your own
initiative.
We are confident of funding for the next 3 years, but you must be able to tolerate and thrive
in an uncertain environment and excel with limited resources. It is also essential to be
comfortable with the difference between ‘research’ and ‘research & development.’ We are
driving to a product that meets customer needs and time is always a factor. The salary will
initially be below the market rate, but this will be compensated with equity in the company,
which will allow you to share in our ultimate success. We anticipate the salary to quickly
increase after 2 or 3 years. You will be expected to relocate to beautiful Northern Colorado
at the base of the Rocky Mountains.
Parman Tech is a small startup in the R&D phase, expecting to have our first product in 2
years. Our revolutionary technology, which we call NanoSelect, uses optical forces to
purify nanoparticle formulations, making them safer and more effective for treating cancer
and many other devastating diseases. Our customers are in the pharmaceutical industry.
