This role involves supporting project execution, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving innovation of our electrical systems within our satellite.\nThis role will sit within the Spacecraft Engineering team at Capella Space. This team contains a variety of engineering disciplines that design and develop the satellite and payload systems.\nResponsibilities\nLeadership and Management:\nLead, mentor, and develop a team of electrical engineers, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback of a distributed team across two offices.\nAssign people to tasks and manage workloads to ensure timely project completion.\nFoster a collaborative and innovative team environment.\n\nProject Oversight:\nOversee the design, development, and testing of electrical systems and components for our application.\nAllocate resources effectively to meet project goals and deadlines.\nSupport systems engineering requirements.\n\nTechnical Expertise:\nProvide technical expertise and guidance on electrical design, integration, and troubleshooting.\nStay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements.\nDrive continuous improvement in electrical engineering practices and processes.\n\nCompliance and Quality Assurance:\nEnsure compliance with aerospace industry standards, including safety, reliability, and regulatory requirements.\nImplement and enforce quality assurance procedures to maintain high standards in all engineering activities.\n\nQualifications\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; a Master’s degree or higher is preferred.\nExperience: Minimum of 12 years of experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex board designs and systems in a hardware R&D lab environment, with 4 years in a managerial or leadership role.\nProven experience in aerospace systems, or similar high reliability industry, and components is highly desirable.\n\nSkills: Understanding of hardware evaluation methodologies, including development of test cases/suites, performance analysis, test automation, and data analysis \nExtensive experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, thermal chambers, and other test equipment \nExperience with I2C, SPI, PCIe, USB, etc. \nExperience designing modern analog and digital electronics \nExperience in PCB schematic capture & layout\nExperience with Altium designer tools or other similar electronic CAD tools \nExperience designing high reliability systems \nKnowledge of the PCBA fabrication and assembly process \nFamiliarity with PLM tools and strong revision control practices \nExcellent design and manufacturing documentation skills with attention to detail \nAbility to work autonomously by determining and evaluating different courses of action independently \nStrong technical communication skills to be used in a highly collaborative environment\n\nRequired Qualification\nTo conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Capella Employees must be a U.S. citizen, lawful U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and/or the U.S. Department of Commerce, as applicable. The total compensation package includes base salary, bonus, equity, and a range of benefits available on our career site.\nCompensation will vary based on individual factors such as education, qualifications, and experience of the final candidate(s), specific office location, and calibration against relevant market data and internal team equity.
