Lead of Marketing Analytics

Summary

Match Data Analyst role here. Performs statistical modeling and analysis of structured and unstructured datasets to develop metrics, reports and visualizations of trends and patterns. Works with technology organization and business end-users to understand data and analysis needs and develop technical requirements. Partners with development and data management roles to identify and capture data required from internal and external sources. Creates and maintains statistical models for ongoing and ad hoc review and analysis of data. Uses data visualization programs, tools and techniques to generate dashboards, reports and presentations that aid in data storytelling, understanding and interpretation of trends and patterns of business importance. May be internal or external, client-focused, working in conjunction with Professional Services and outsourcing functions. May include company-wide, web-enabled solutions. Employees whose primary role is technical and focused on data storage, warehousing and systems architecture should be matched to Database Engineer or Storage Engineer. Incumbents whose focus is the quantitative analysis of complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers should be matched to Business Intelligence. Employees whose primary responsibility is creating or revising database scripts to consolidate and report on data from multiple sources and applications systems should be matched to Data Informatics. Incumbents whose focus is primarily on analysis and modeling of financial, marketing or pricing data should be matched to Finance, Market Research or Pricing as appropriate.

• Contributes to discipline by proposing new techniques and methods to be applied to assignments based on business context

• Works on ambiguous problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
• Leads situations that typically require a detailed evaluation of variable factors that are not readily identifiable to anticipate problems and recommend sustainable solutions
• Applies expert knowledge to work on complex assignments and identify solutions using creative means

Discretion and Impact

• Definitive impact on achievement of customer, operational, program or service objectives across the department
• Exercises significant judgment and interpretative understanding to evaluate different techniques, making impactful recommendations within department

Collaboration and Interaction

• Regularly interacts with managers, begins to liaise with senior managers in own sub-function
• Leads cooperative efforts among members of different teams to deliver results

Autonomy

• Receives direction in form of broad objectives tied to sub-function targets; begins to independently determine processes on new or special assignments
• May coordinate activities of other team members (team lead) to ensure successful completion of assignments

Knowledge

• Requires specialized expertise in sub-function and working knowledge of related functions
• Applies understanding of industry and how work contributes to the achievement of objectives
• Typically requires a minimum of 6 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 4 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 2 years of experience
