This is a Staff-level individual contributor role with broad organizational influence: you will set technical direction, build high-leverage solutions, and enable teams to adopt scalable quality practices.\nWhat You’ll Do\nDefine and execute the technical vision for quality engineering across FInancial Reporting Products, including reusable test tooling, infrastructure, standards, and paved-road developer experiences\nSet and own governance standards that keep AI-generated code and agent integrations safe, testable, and consistent across services.\nRate every agent-callable surface for AI readiness before integration, and define rollback or human-confirmation paths for agent actions.\nArchitect, build, and evolve scalable automated test frameworks that support API, integration, contract, end-to-end, user-workflow, performance, and resiliency testing\nDesign and implement quality-platform capabilities for complex distributed systems, including CI/CD integrations, test-environment strategies, release validation, and actionable quality signals\nDrive comprehensive performance, load, scale, reliability, and chaos-testing approaches for critical services and customer workflows\nEstablish meaningful quality metrics, telemetry standards, and dashboards that help engineering teams identify release risk, system vulnerabilities, and customer-impacting regressions early\nPartner with product and engineering teams to embed quality practices throughout planning, development, delivery, and production operations\nLead multi-quarter, cross-functional technical initiatives from problem definition through architecture, implementation, adoption, and measurable outcomes\nWork closely with Principal Engineers, Product Directors, and Engineering Leadership to align quality investments with product strategy, architectural roadmaps, and customer needs\nPrototype and personally deliver high-leverage platform components while enabling product teams to adopt and extend shared capabilities\nLead and mentor Senior and Mid-level engineers, raise the technical bar for quality engineering, and create repeatable practices that scale beyond a single team\nChampion a customer-centered quality mindset by connecting production signals, user workflows, and engineering decisions to the customer experience\nDrive alignment across product lines and stakeholders to resolve ambiguous technical problems and establish durable engineering standards\nWhat You’ll Need\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience\n4+ years of experience in software engineering, software development in test, test infrastructure, quality engineering, or a related technical discipline\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience leading complex, ambiguous, multi-team technical initiatives from technical strategy through delivery, adoption, and measurable outcomes\nDemonstrated fluency operating with and evaluating AI-assisted/agent-authored code, at an advanced level.\nExperience building evaluation frameworks that measure AI agent decision-correctness, not just latency/availability/uptime.\nManaged outsourced testing teams\nDeep experience designing and building scalable automated testing strategies, frameworks, and tooling for distributed systems, microservices, APIs, and backend infrastructure\nStrong software engineering fundamentals and proficiency in one or more modern languages, such as TypeScript, Python, Go, Java, or JavaScript\nExperience building quality capabilities across the software delivery lifecycle, including CI/CD integration, test environments, release validation, observability, and multiple testing layers such as unit, integration, contract, end-to-end, performance, and resiliency testing\nExperience architecting quality-engineering solutions in cloud-native environments and with tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, and Playwright\nDemonstrated ability to influence technical leaders, mentor engineers, establish reusable platforms or standards, and drive alignment across multiple product teams or globally distributed engineering organizations\nTravel Requirements & Working Conditions\nUp to 10% travel for team jams and internal developer conference\nReliable internet access for any period of time working remotely, not in a Workiva office\nHow You’ll Be Rewarded\nSalary range in the US: $129,000.00 - $210,000.00A discretionary bonus typically paid annually\nRestricted Stock Units granted at time of hire\n401(k) match and comprehensive employee benefits package\nThe salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this job in the US.
