The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test cases, and regression test suites to ensure the accuracy, reliability, consistency, and quality of reporting solutions. The role involves performing functional, regression, and end-to-end data validation testing across SQL Server databases, ETL pipelines, semantic models, and Power BI reports, including validating source-to-report accuracy, data integrity, completeness, and consistency. The candidate will establish QA standards, templates, testing methodologies, quality gates, and release governance processes, identify and manage defects using Azure DevOps, Jira, or equivalent tools, collaborate with technical teams to validate fixes, and support release sign-off before production deployment. The role also requires assessing the downstream impact of data model changes on dependent reports and dashboards, validating DAX measures and calculations, reviewing business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and reporting specifications, and developing reusable regression test suites and data validation scripts. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in SQL, Power BI testing, ETL validation, data profiling, data quality assessment, semantic models, relationships, measures, and Star and Snowflake Schema design. Experience with Power Query (M) and Microsoft Fabric is considered an asset. Strong analytical, problem-solving, root cause analysis, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to translate business requirements into measurable QA criteria, communicate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders, and work independently with minimal supervision.
