The consultant will work within an Agile product engineering team to build a secure, reliable, and scalable document-processing solution.\nThis is not purely a Datacap administration role. The candidate must have strong hands-on Datacap development experience and be able to move from requirements and technical design through development, integration, deployment, and production support.\nKey Responsibilities\n1. IBM Datacap Development\nDesign, develop, configure, and enhance IBM Datacap applications.\nDevelop and maintain:\nDatacap rulesets\nTasks\nActions\nDocument hierarchies\nWorkflows\nValidation rules\nVerification processes\nConfigure and optimize:\nOCR\nDocument recognition\nDocument classification\nData extraction\nField validation\nImage processing\nBatch processing\nDevelop reusable Datacap components and custom actions/extensions.\nImplement business rules for document processing, routing, validation, and exception handling.\n2. Datacap Administration\nInstall, configure, administer, and maintain IBM Datacap environments.\nSupport:\nDatacap Server\nRulerunner\nDatacap Studio\nDatacap Navigator\nConfigure and administer Rulerunner services.\nManage Datacap environments across Development, Test, QA, UAT, and Production.\nMonitor application health, processing queues, logs, throughput, and performance.\nTroubleshoot failed batches, Rulerunner failures, OCR issues, extraction errors, workflow failures, connectivity problems, and performance issues.\nPerform patching, upgrades, configuration management, and environment migrations.\n3. Product Development\nParticipate in requirements analysis, solution design, sprint planning, development, testing, deployment, and production support.\nTranslate business requirements and user stories into Datacap technical solutions.\nDevelop new product functionality and enhancements.\nParticipate in architecture and technical design discussions.\nEstimate development effort and contribute to release planning.\nPerform code and peer reviews.\nSupport functional, integration, regression, and UAT testing.\nTroubleshoot defects and implement permanent fixes.\nSupport releases and post-deployment stabilization.\n4. Integration Development\nDevelop and support Datacap integrations using:\nREST APIs\nSOAP Web Services\nDatabases\nFile-based interfaces\nEnterprise content repositories\nBusiness applications\nWorkflow platforms\nIntegrate Datacap with IBM FileNet P8 and IBM Content Navigator where applicable.\nHandle database lookups, metadata mapping, document/metadata exports, API data exchange, retries, error handling, audit logging, and exception management.\n5. Custom Development\nDevelop and support custom Datacap components using:\nC#\n.NET\nJava\nJavaScript\nSQL\nXML\nREST\nSOAP\nStrong C#/.NET experience is especially valuable for custom Datacap actions and extensions.\n6. Security & Federal Environment\nWork within secure enterprise and federal government environments.\nSupport security practices involving:\nNIST\nFISMA\nFederal information security controls\nSecure software development\nIAM/RBAC\nAudit logging\nVulnerability remediation\nApplication security\nPII protection\nChange/configuration management.\n7.
