Working closely with operational and finance teams, you will help ensure the business remains fully compliant with current legislation while driving error-free operations and continuously improving capacity, processes and controls.\nThis role is based in our Swindon office, with occasional travel to our Bristol office as required.\nWHAT MATTERS MOST IN THIS ROLE\nMaintaining a high level of accuracy and ensuring compliance with HMRC legislation is fundamental to success in this role. You will act as the Accounts Team's CIS subject-matter expert, supporting colleagues with technical processing guidance and ensuring subcontractor information is maintained correctly.\nThe role requires excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage statutory deadlines. You will be confident working collaboratively across departments and identifying opportunities to improve existing processes while maintaining robust compliance standards.\nOther duties will include:\nOperations and compliance\nVerifying subcontractor registration status with HMRC and maintaining accurate CIS records. \nReviewing Purchase Orders, Contracts and approved supplier invoices to determine whether the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) applies. \nEnsuring the correct CIS tax treatment is applied in accordance with HMRC legislation. \nWorking with Finance, Property Management and Surveying teams to improve CIS processes and ensure legislative compliance. \nReviewing subcontractor records to ensure compliance with HMRC requirements. \nUndertaking any other duties required to support the smooth running of the Finance function. \nUndertaking any other duties required to support the smooth running of the Finance function. \nReporting and audits\nPreparing and submitting monthly CIS returns within statutory deadlines. \nProducing and distributing monthly CIS deduction and payment statements. \nProducing management information and compliance reports as required. \nMaintaining accurate audit trails and supporting documentation for all CIS activity. \nSupporting internal and external audits relating to CIS compliance. \nKnowledge base and capacity building\nProviding advice, guidance and training to internal teams on CIS legislation and the VAT Domestic Reverse Charge. \nMonitoring legislative changes and implementing process updates where required. \nWorking with Finance, Property Management and Surveying teams to improve CIS processes and ensure legislative compliance. \nWHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU\nA proactive, organised and detail-oriented approach is essential.
