As we continue to expand our footprint across Africa and beyond, building the right team across markets is critical to sustaining our growth.\n\nROLE OVERVIEW\nWe are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Payroll Operations Executive with demonstrated multi-jurisdiction payroll experience and strong payroll-calculation, reconciliation, variance-analysis, and data-accuracy skills to lead end-to-end payroll operations for our Angola client base, and to support other African markets as needed. The successful candidate will ensure accurate payroll processing, timely statutory remittances, employee salary payments, and full compliance with Angolan labor and tax regulations.\nThe role requires prior experience using an HCMS/HRMS system (mandatory) and strong working relationships with Angolan statutory authorities. Fluency in Portuguese is mandatory, given that all statutory filings and client documentation are in Portuguese. You will report directly to our Senior Global Payroll Operations Manager.\n\nWHAT YOU WILL OWN\n Manage full-cycle payroll processing for Payroll Outsourcing, EOR, and SaaS clients in Angola.\nProcess salaries, allowances, bonuses, overtime, and deductions accurately.\nEnsure timely and accurate payment of employee salaries.\n\nCompute, file, and remit statutory obligations (INSS and other levies) within deadlines.\nMaintain strong liaison with Angolan statutory bodies and regulatory authorities.\nSupport the build out of payroll templates and processes for new and existing Angola clients.\nSupport smooth service delivery and process continuity across payroll operations.\nSupport payroll processing and compliance checks across other African jurisdictions as required, ensuring consistency in standards and reporting; configure, test, and maintain payroll workflows, rules, templates, and controls within HCMS/HRMS or payroll platforms.\nConduct payroll reconciliations and variance analysis.\n\nSupport internal and external payroll audits.\n\nEnsure payroll data accuracy within HCMS/HRMS platforms.\n\nResearch regulatory updates and implement compliance changes.\n\nPrepare payroll reports and client summaries in Portuguese and English as needed.\nPerform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.\n\nEXPERIENCE\n Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or related field.\nMinimum of 5-7 years' payroll experience, including demonstrated multi-jurisdiction/multi-country payroll experience across African markets (mandatory).\nPrior experience with Angolan payroll strongly preferred.\n\nProven experience handling multi-client payroll or payroll outsourcing.\n\nMandatory hands-on experience configuring, testing, and maintaining payroll workflows, rules, templates, and controls within HCMS/HRMS or payroll platforms.\nFluency in both Portuguese and English (mandatory), written and spoken.\nStrong knowledge of Angolan tax regulations, INSS processes, and labor laws.\nExperience dealing directly with statutory authorities.\n\nProfessional payroll certification (e.g., CIPP, APA, or a recognized regional equivalent) is an advantage.\nAdvanced Excel skills.\n\nStrong numerical and analytical skills.\n\nExcellent communication and time management skills.\n\nHigh level of integrity and confidentiality.\n\nKEY COMPETENCIES\nStrong payroll calculation, reconciliation, and variance-analysis skills\n\nHigh attention to detail\n\nCompliance-driven mindset\n\nComfort working across multiple countries and regulatory frameworks\n\nStrong research capability\n\nAbility to meet strict deadlines\n\nProfessional stakeholder management\n\nComfortable operating in a fast-moving, high-priority market\n\nWHAT WE OFFER\n Competitive, incentive-based remuneration, health cover and stock options.\nPurpose driven work.
