We’re looking for a Terminal Controller to lead terminal operations in Gibraltar-coordinating safe, efficient, and compliant fuel movements while driving strong team performance and safety culture on shift.\nWhy You’ll Love This Role\nOperational leadership: Take ownership of end-to-end terminal operations on shift\nGlobal environment: Work in a critical hub supporting marine and fuel logistics\nImpact: Play a key role in safety, performance, and operational excellence\nTeam culture: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team\nWhat You’ll Do\nShift Leadership & Operations\nAct as Shift Leader, overseeing terminal operations to ensure safe and efficient performance\nAllocate resources and workloads across the shift based on operational demand\nLead, coach, and develop Terminal Operators to ensure high performance and capability\nAct as the primary escalation point for operational issues, incidents, and decision-making\nFuel & Terminal Operations\nOversee receipt, storage, and transfer of fuel products, including:Vessel receipt and discharge operations\nTransfers to company-owned and third-party vessels\nRoad tanker loading and unloading\n\nEnsure all activities are performed in strict accordance with SOPs and operational standards\nMonitor tank inventories, product temperatures, and blending activities\nPerform tank gauging and support month-end stock reconciliation\nMaintain accurate, real-time records of all product movements\nSafety, Risk & Compliance (HSSEQ)\nLead HSSEQ performance on shift, setting clear expectations and standards\nDrive a strong safety culture through visible leadership and proactive intervention\nManage Control of Work activities, including:Permit to Work systems\nRisk assessments and hazard identification\n\nAct as Local Incident Manager (LIM) during incidents and emergencies\nEnsure compliance with ISPS security requirements and site protocols\nLead response to incidents, near misses, and emergency situations\nSupport investigations and continuous improvement initiatives\nMaintenance & Continuous Improvement\nConduct routine inspections and ensure findings are resolved or escalated\nSupport minor maintenance activities and coordinate with engineering teams\nMaintain high standards of terminal housekeeping and asset condition\nIdentify and drive opportunities for operational and safety improvements\nReporting & Stakeholder Collaboration\nMaintain accurate shift logs, operational records, and documentation\nSupport reporting of terminal KPIs and performance metrics\nCollaborate with planning, administrative, and engineering teams\nWhat We’re Looking For\nExperience\nProven experience in fuel terminal, marine, or bulk liquid operations\nPrevious supervisory or shift leadership experience\nStrong experience working within strict HSSEQ frameworks\nSkills\nStrong understanding of safe systems of work and risk management\nConfidence to lead teams and challenge unsafe behaviors\nExcellent communication and coordination skills\nStrong attention to detail and ability to operate under pressure\nComfortable working at heights (up to 16m)\nProficient in Microsoft Office (Excel preferred)\nOther Requirements\nAbility to work rotating shifts and flexible hours\nStrong team player with leadership capability in an operational environment\nPlease note that by submitting an employment application you consent to World Fuel Services processing your information for this role and potentially for future employment opportunities, in accordance with applicable laws.
