We help children of all backgrounds, even in the most dangerous places, inspired by our Christian faith.\nCome join our 31,000+ staff working in nearly 100 countries and share the joy of transforming vulnerable children’s life stories!\nKey Responsibilities:\nThe Associate General Counsel will be responsible to provide legal counsel and services, in consultation with and under the direction of the General Counsel,and in coordination with other members of the Legal Department,to enable World Vision International and the broader World Vision “Partnership” to carry out their mission in compliance with applicable laws and at an acceptable level of legal risk.\nAdmittance to the California Bar is also preferred but we will consider waiving the California requirement for an exceptional candidate who is admitted to the bar in another jurisdictions.\nYou’ll bring these skills, qualifications and experience:\nUS Juris Doctorate, or foreign equivalent.\nAt least 5 years’ experience as a practicing attorney, with at least some of that in a major global law firm and engaged in cross-border, multijurisdictional matters is highly desired.\nSolid foundation in fundamental legal theories, ability to identify problems and legal issues and provide practical advice to in-house clients, good negotiating and research skills, as well as effective written and oral communication skills. \nExperience in dealing with outside counsel, preferably global exposure and general knowledge of international affairs.\nSensitivity in and exposure to cross-cultural situations.\nExposure/experience with countries in the developing world would be highly advantageous.\nExperience both in law firms and corporate in-house legal departments would be preffered.\nExperience in a non-US legal system, particularly the Civil Law system would be preferred.\nExperience with nonprofit organisations would be highly advantageous.\nFluent in written and spoken English, and fluency in a second language (especially Spanish, French, or Portuguese) would be highly advantageous.\nWe will consider remote applicants, who reside in States where WVI is registered to operate.\nApplicant Types Accepted:\nLocal Applicants OnlyWorld Vision is a Christian humanitarian organisation with a mission centred on following Jesus Christ in service to the world´s most vulnerable children.
