Together, we shape the evolution.\nThe opportunity\nJoin our High Availability (HA) Frontoffice Platform team as an Application Database Engineer, where you'll work alongside 7 dedicated professionals including Application Database Engineers, Cloud Engineers and Site Reliability Engineers, working on exciting projects including our major cloud migration to PostgreSQL.\nDay-to-day responsibilities\nSupport DevOps teams with database-related requests, document and promote departmental standards\nLead and coordinate database migrations, with focus on the major cloud migration to PostgreSQL while maintaining our Oracle databases, working closely with System DBAs and departmental teams\nCollaborate with external partners (e.g. infrastructure providers) and teams inside and outside the department on all database-related questions and requests\nMonitor database performance, ensure zero-downtime, system compliance and vulnerability management, and implement optimisation strategies\nWork transversally with other systems and operations entities on common subjects\nParticipate in remunerated on-call duties (3rd level support) throughout the year, ensuring end-to-end operational continuity of both the database infrastructures and the applications they support\nWho are we looking for\nAt least 5 years’ hands-on experience administering production databases, with strong expertise in PostgreSQL and Oracle\nProven ability to optimise queries, schemas and database performance, and troubleshoot application database issues, including execution plans, locks, connection pooling and query patterns\nExperience managing database incidents and conducting root-cause analysis in highly available production environments, with a focus on minimising downtime\nExperience with database monitoring and capacity planning, as well as cloud platforms and database migrations.
