Whether you've got a few years under your belt or you're ready to take the next step in your career, you'll find plenty of room to grow here.\nDay-to-day responsibilities\nBuild and evolve a very large, business-critical platform that merchants worldwide rely on every day.\nWork in an agile DevOps team that owns features across the full lifecycle: analysis, design, implementation, functional testing, deployment, operation, and support.\nDevelop robust backend solutions using Java and Spring (Boot) as your daily toolkit.\nWork with Oracle databases (SQL / PL-SQL) as a core part of our application landscape.\nOperate in a hybrid infrastructure: a heavily containerized world (think Podman & friends) running alongside bare-metal systems.\nShip with confidence using modern CI/CD (e.g., GitLab CI) and infrastructure automation (e.g., Ansible).\nLeverage AI smartly and responsibly - we actively encourage using tools like GitHub Copilot and Claude Code to write better code faster, improve quality, and free up time for the problems that really matter. In practice, this means:\nGenuine passion for software development\nSome professional experience building software - you don't need to be a senior, but you should be comfortable contributing to real-world systems\nWorking knowledge of Java and Spring (Boot) (or a strong willingness to grow into it)\nExperience with database development, ideally Oracle SQL / PL-SQL\nFamiliarity with containers and an openness to bare-metal environments\nA smart, curious approach to AI tooling in everyday development\nPractical experience with version control (Git preferred)\nBachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field - or equivalent practical experience\nVery good German and English, written and spoken\nCustomer-oriented, independent, flexible, creative, and a pragmatic team player\nWillingness and availability for 24/7 on-call duty as a core part of the role\nLocation & Eligibility\nThis position is based in Zurich, Switzerland.
