Each of these experiences helps students to see beyond the classroom and to see the world - and themselves - in new ways.\nJob Description:\nThe Resident Director is responsible for the successful operational delivery of all WorldStrides programs in Amsterdam. The role involves oversight of student services, faculty-led program operations, financial administration, health and safety, local partnerships, and strategic development. \nThe Resident Director serves as the primary local representative of WorldStrides and plays a key role in ensuring an outstanding experience for students, faculty, and institutional partners. \nResponsibilities:\n1) Faculty-Led (Custom) Programs \nResponsible for the planning, coordination, and successful delivery of faculty-led programs. \n Plan and coordinate educational itineraries and program schedules. \nCoordinate program logistics from confirmation through completion. \nArrange accommodations, transportation, restaurant bookings, and local services. \nConfirm operational services and requirements with suppliers. \nPrepare rooming lists, operational documentation, and briefing materials. \nLiaise with faculty before, during, and after programs. Coordinate participant communications. \nManage operational changes and troubleshoot issues as they arise. \nSupport on-site program delivery when required. \nConduct post-program reviews and evaluations. \nIdentify opportunities for operational improvement and efficiency. \n 2) Individual (Study Abroad) Programs \nResponsible for supporting students throughout their study abroad experience at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (Fall, Spring and Summer sessions) \n Coordinate student arrivals and departures. \nArrange and oversee airport transfers. \nDeliver and coordinate orientation programs (BCO). \nCoordinate student housing, primarily through Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and approved housing providers. \nConduct housing inspections as required. \nEnsure that students register at municipality\nSupport student welfare and well-being. \nOrganize student activities, cultural events, and excursions. \nProvide operational support throughout the semester. \nCoordinate with local partners and service providers. \nSupport students with day-to-day operational matters. \nResolve issues affecting the student experience. \n3) Financial Administration & Accounts Payable \nResponsible for supporting the financial administration of Amsterdam programs and ensuring compliance with company procedures. \n Assist with budget forecasting and financial planning. \nSupport financial reporting and reconciliation through Concur and related systems. \nMonitor program costs and support cost-control initiatives. \nCollect and process supplier invoices. \nReview invoices for accuracy and operational compliance. \nPrepare invoices for payment approval. \nPrepare and submit expense reports. \nManage petty cash and reconciliation processes. \nMaintain accurate financial and operational records. \nPrepare documentation for payment runs. \nMaintain supplier files and records. \nSupport administrative and compliance requirements. \n4) Tour Leadership & Programme Delivery \nResponsible for supporting field operations and program delivery when required. \n Acting as Tour Director where/when operationally required. \nEscorting student groups. \nDelivering programme briefings. \nBriefing and supporting Tour Directors, Tour Leaders and Tour Guides. \nCoordinating programme logistics while travelling. \nMonitoring operational quality during programmes. \nResolving operational issues in the field. \nSupporting professors and students throughout programme delivery. \nRepresenting WorldStrides professionally at all times. \n5) Health, Safety & Student Welfare \nResponsible for supporting the health, safety, and well-being of students, faculty, and staff. \n Support crisis management procedures in collaboration with WorldStrides' dedicated support teams.\nPromote student well-being and positive engagement.\nRespond appropriately to health, safety, and welfare incidents.\nCoordinate medical appointments and hospital visits when necessary.\nPrepare and maintain incident reports.\nLiaise with faculty during incidents or emergencies.\nEscalate significant incidents according to company protocols.\nSupport emergency response procedures.\nMaintain confidential and accurate records. \n 6) Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement \nResponsible for maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders in Amsterdam \nDevelop and maintain relationships with university partners, housing providers, vendors, and local institutions. \nRepresent WorldStrides in meetings, networking events, and partner engagement activities. \nIdentify and support opportunities to strengthen local partnerships and enhance the student experience. \nAct as a key point of contact for external stakeholders and community partners. \n7) Strategic planning. \nResponsible for supporting the long-term success and growth of WorldStrides operations in Amsterdam. \n Collaborate with supervisors on operational planning and strategy implementation\nMonitor local trends, opportunities, and challenges to support informed decision-making. \nContribute ideas and recommendations to improve program quality, efficiency, and growth. \nSupport the implementation of new initiatives aligned with organizational objectives. \n\nQualifications:\nBachelors Degree\nSignificant experience in the travel and tourism industry\nExperience planning and delivering group travel experiences (Preferably for International student groups)\nWorldStrides, a global organization, is committed to educate and serve communities worldwide.
