This is a full-time position based in Markham, Ontario.\nWorley is seeking an experienced and driven Lead Civil Engineer to join our team in Oakville, In this role, you will provide technical leadership and oversee the delivery of civil engineering scope for large-scale industrial and infrastructure projects across all phases of project development and execution.\nWorking within a multidisciplinary EPC/EPCM environment, you will be responsible for leading civil design activities, ensuring technical excellence, managing resources, and supporting project delivery from concept and feasibility through detailed design, construction, and commissioning. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to complex projects that are shaping the future of energy and infrastructure while mentoring the next generation of engineering professionals.\nResponsibilities:\nLead the civil engineering design and delivery of major industrial and infrastructure projects.\nProvide technical direction, oversight, and quality assurance for civil engineering deliverables.\nLead site development activities including earthworks, grading, drainage, access roads, and infrastructure design.\nDesign and review stormwater management systems, retention and detention facilities, erosion control measures, and site drainage solutions.\nOversee the design of civil infrastructure including roads, crossings, underground utilities, culverts, subdrainage systems, equipment foundations, crane pads, and utility corridors.\nCoordinate civil engineering interfaces with structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, environmental, and geotechnical disciplines.\nSupport project planning activities including scope definition, engineering estimates, schedules, staffing plans, and execution strategies.\nManage civil engineering budgets, resource requirements, and deliverable schedules to ensure successful project execution.\nPrepare and review engineering reports, technical specifications, construction work packages, material take-offs, and cost estimates.\nParticipate in technical bid evaluations, contractor reviews, and procurement support activities.\nProvide technical support during construction, commissioning, and field execution, including site visits and issue resolution.\nEngage directly with clients, contractors, regulatory authorities, and project stakeholders.\nMentor, coach, and develop junior and intermediate engineers and designers.\nPromote Worley's commitment to safety, quality, sustainability, and continuous improvement.\nWhat you will bring:\nTechnical and Industry Experience:\nExtensive civil engineering experience within industrial, energy, infrastructure, or major capital project environments.\nProven experience leading civil engineering scope on EPC or EPCM projects through multiple phases of project delivery.\nStrong knowledge of site development, earthworks, grading, drainage, stormwater management, roads, underground utilities, and related civil infrastructure.\nExperience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams and managing engineering interfaces.\nDemonstrated ability to lead technical teams, manage priorities, and deliver high-quality engineering solutions.\nStrong understanding of applicable industry codes, standards, regulatory requirements, and engineering best practices.\nExperience supporting construction activities, field reviews, and site-based issue resolution.\nStrong client-facing skills with the ability to build trusted relationships and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.\nProficiency with Civil 3D and other relevant civil engineering design software is considered an asset.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nSelf-motivated with strong problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership capabilities.\nLarge Hydro dam and intake structure design experience.\nEligibility for registration in the province of practice if not already registered.\nEducation - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:\nRequired:\nBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.\nProfessional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Canada.\nFor applicants based in the province of Ontario, the salary range is $179,702 to $211,414 CAD.\nApplication of the pay band: Variation in salary is determined by factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.\nPlease note: No agency representation or submissions will be recognized for this vacancy.\nWorley is committed to providing a fair and equitable hiring process for all applicants.
