Our team includes world class experts and dynamic go-getters. This is a full-time position based in Oakville or Markham, Ontario.\nThe Lead Electrical Engineer is responsible for providing technical leadership and delivering electrical engineering solutions for power distribution, energy storage, and related energy infrastructure projects. Success in this role requires strong electrical engineering expertise, sound judgment, collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, and the ability to build trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders. We are seeking a self-motivated professional who is driven to solve complex engineering challenges, mentors others, and consistently delivers high-quality results that contribute to safe, successful project outcomes.\nResponsibilities:\nLead and deliver electrical engineering services for power distribution, energy storage, and related energy infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with Worley, client, regulatory, and industry requirements.\nDevelop and oversee electrical engineering deliverables including HV, MV, and LV systems, substations, MCCs, protection systems, single line diagrams, schematics, cable routing, lighting, and grounding systems.\nProvide technical leadership throughout engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup phases.\nResolve complex technical challenges and provide practical engineering solutions that support project objectives.\nLead multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate effectively with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.\nAssign work, provide technical guidance, review deliverables, and support the development of less experienced engineers.\nBuild trusted relationships with clients through proactive communication, responsiveness, and a commitment to delivering value.\nEnsure engineering deliverables meet quality, safety, schedule, and budget requirements.\nIdentify risks, manage scope changes, and proactively resolve issues before they impact project execution.\nContribute to a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team environment.\nStay current with emerging technologies, industry developments, and best practices in electrical engineering.\nSupport proposal development, technical studies, and project planning activities when required.\nWhat you will bring:\nTechnical and Industry Experience:\n15+ years of progressively responsible electrical engineering experience.\nExperience delivering electrical engineering solutions within power distribution and other auxiliary systems for large or mega projects in power, mining, oil & gas, chemicals, energy storage, utilities, renewable energy, or related industrial environments.\nStrong technical knowledge of HV, MV, and LV electrical systems, substations, protection, control and communication systems, SCADA, and power system studies.\nExperience in power generation, switchyard, transmission, or other electrical infrastructure projects is considered a strong asset.\nProficiency in engineering calculations and studies.\nProven expertise in the latest CSA (including CEC), NFPA (Including NEC), OESC, NEMA, IEEE, Codes/Standards, statutory and regulatory requirements.\nStrong technical background in preparing engineering specifications/standards/guidelines, design philosophies/criteria, EWPs and CWPs, completion reports for construction/commissioning.\nExperience using ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, CDEGS and other relevant engineering design software.\nDemonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems and develop practical, fit-for-purpose engineering solutions.\nStrong leadership, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.\nA client-focused mindset with the ability to build trusted relationships and work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.\nAccountability, sound judgment, and the ability to balance competing priorities while maintaining quality and safety standards.\nA genuine interest in leading technical work, mentoring others, and contributing to successful project outcomes.\nMotivation to continuously learn, embrace new technologies, and contribute to innovation and continuous improvement.\nA track record of successfully delivering engineering scopes safely, on schedule, and within budget.\nExperience leading multidisciplinary teams, managing project interfaces, and contributing to positive project and client outcomes.\nDemonstrated achievements in improving project performance, mitigating risk, solving complex technical challenges, or driving operational improvements.\nEducation - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:\nRequired:\nBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Applied Science, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.\nProfessional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario\nFor applicants based in the province of Ontario, the salary range is $149,294 to $175,641 CAD.\nApplication of the pay band: Variation in salary is determined by factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.\nPlease note: No agency representation or submissions will be recognized for this vacancy.\nWorley is committed to providing a fair and equitable hiring process for all applicants.
