The successful candidate will provide technical leadership and coordination for process engineering activities on SAGD and thermal oil sands projects, supporting projects from early studies through detailed engineering, construction, commissioning, and start-up. The Lead Process Engineer will be responsible for overseeing process engineering deliverables, coordinating multidisciplinary interfaces, mentoring team members, and ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements. This is a full-time position based in either Calgary, Alberta or Edmonton, Alberta.\nResponsibilities\nLead process engineering activities on SAGD projects and ensure delivery of quality engineering services that meet Worley, customer, and regulatory requirements, on time and within budget.\nPlan, coordinate, and oversee process engineering work performed by project teams.\nAct as the primary process engineering focal point for assigned projects.\nManage process engineering scope, schedule, priorities, and technical deliverables.\nEnsure process engineering deliverables are completed in accordance with project requirements, applicable standards, and established quality procedures.\nLead or oversee development and review of:Process simulations and heat & material balances\nProcess Flow Diagrams (PFDs)\nPiping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)\nProcess design criteria and philosophies\nEquipment specifications and datasheets\nRelief system design and operating envelopes\nEngineering studies, reports, and technical documentation\n\nProvide technical leadership during feasibility studies, conceptual design, FEED, detailed engineering, and brownfield modifications.\nSupport project planning activities including estimates, proposals, schedules, staffing plans, and execution strategies.\nIdentify and manage technical risks, scope changes, and engineering issues throughout project execution.\nProvide technical guidance during procurement, fabrication, construction, commissioning, start-up, and operational support activities.\nParticipate in client meetings, design reviews, HAZOPs, risk reviews, and project decision-making processes.\nCoordinate effectively with other engineering disciplines, project management, customers, vendors, and stakeholders.\nMentor, coach, and provide technical guidance to junior, intermediate, and senior engineers.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives and promote engineering excellence across the organization.\nQualifications - What you will bring\nTechnical and Industry Experience\nExtensive process engineering experience within the oil and gas industry, including significant SAGD and thermal oil sands project experience.\nStrong technical knowledge of SAGD facilities and associated processing systems, including steam generation, produced water treatment, oil treating, gathering systems, utilities, and supporting infrastructure.\nDemonstrated experience leading process engineering activities on multidisciplinary engineering projects.\nExcellent understanding of process engineering fundamentals and design principles.\nStrong knowledge of applicable industry standards, codes, regulations, and engineering best practices.\nExperience supporting projects through all phases of execution, including studies, FEED, detailed engineering, construction, commissioning, and start-up.\nDemonstrated ability to resolve complex technical challenges and provide sound engineering judgement.\nExperience reviewing and approving process engineering deliverables.\nCompetent use of process engineering software such as Aspen HYSYS and other engineering analysis tools.\nStrong communication, collaboration, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.\nExperience leading technical teams and mentoring engineers.\nEducation, Qualifications, Accreditation, Training Required:\nBachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.\nProfessional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.\nExperience leading process engineering teams within an EPCM or consulting environment.\nExperience serving as Process Lead on large multidisciplinary SAGD projects.\nExperience supporting operational facilities and brownfield modifications.\nMoving forward together\nWe’re committed to building a diverse, inclusive and respectful workplace where everyone feels they belong, can bring themselves, and are heard.
