The position requires proven experience in highly complex, high-investment projects, ideally above USD 1 billion. The main focus of the role is to lead the team, coordinate interfaces, set priorities, make decisions, and ensure progress across the discipline. The expected balance is approximately 30-40% technical judgement and 60-70% leadership, coordination, and management.\nResponsibilities :\nLead Instrumentation and Control engineering activities for large-scale mining projects within multidisciplinary design teams.\nManage and coordinate design teams of 15 or more people, assigning priorities, reviewing progress, removing blockers, and ensuring schedule and quality compliance.\nCoordinate interfaces with Process, Piping, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil/Structural, and other disciplines, ensuring technical consistency across deliverables and design decisions.\nAlign the team with project objectives, escalate critical decisions, and facilitate the resolution of open issues.\nLead key technical reviews, ensuring consistency across disciplines and appropriate management of design risks.\nMonitor team productivity, quality, workload, and performance, anticipating deviations and defining corrective actions when needed.\nWhat you will find\nParticipation in highly complex mining projects, with focus on process plants and automation.\nA leadership role with autonomy, strong interdisciplinary interaction, and direct impact on engineering decisions.\nA dynamic work environment focused on coordination, quality, traceability, and execution.\nWork location: Puerto Madero, Buenos Aires, with occasional site visits or plant walkdowns\nWork arrangement: Hybrid\n\nWhat you will bring\nProven experience as Lead Engineer or in an equivalent role on large-scale engineering projects, ideally above USD 1 billion.\n\nEPC/EPCM experience from the engineering/contractor side; client-side experience only is not sufficient for this role.\n\nExperience participating in and leading multidisciplinary design teams, with strong interaction across technical disciplines.\n\nExperience leading engineering/design teams of 15 or more people, including resource planning, priority setting, progress monitoring, and team performance management.\n\nStrong technical judgement in Instrumentation & Control to guide key decisions, resolve interfaces, and validate solutions proposed by the team.\n\nAdvanced/fluent English, particularly for coordination with global teams, clients, and suppliers.\n\nRequired technical judgement\nIndustrial instrumentation applied to mining process plants, with the ability to assess risks, alternatives, and design decisions.\n\nPLC/DCS/SCADA architectures and integration with other disciplines, vendors, and plant systems in mining projects.\n\nSignal, I/O, marshalling, cabling, testing, and interface strategies at review and decision-making level.\n\nReview and validation of P&IDs, layouts, and interdisciplinary documentation.\n\nKnowledge of standards and practices applicable to I&C, such as ISA, IEC, API, and ANSI, at review/judgement level rather than only general awareness.\n\nManagement and coordination tools\nEngineering tracking tools to control interfaces, comments, priorities, commitments, and team progress.\n\nFamiliarity with platforms used by the team -AVEVA, SmartPlant/SPI, Eplan, Plant 3D, Revit, or others- to oversee progress, review consistency, and support coordination.\n\nHighly valued experience\n\nExperience in instrumentation and control systems in mining environments.\n\nDefinition or review of OT architectures.\n\nExperience with RF / private LTE networks (4G / 5G).\n\nIntegration with remote operation centers / IROC.\n\nExpected leadership style\n\nDrive the team: set direction, follow up, remove blockers, and sustain execution pace.\n\nChallenge constructively: question criteria, risks, and decisions when needed, while maintaining focus on execution.\n\nAct proactively: anticipate information needs, planning risks, and interdisciplinary interfaces.\n\nBe solution-oriented: facilitate decisions, align the team, and seek practical alternatives when facing technical, commercial, or schedule constra\nif you need any accessibility adjustments, please make sure to mention it in your application.\n\nMoving forward together\nWe want our people to be energized and empowered to drive sustainable impact.
