Our team includes world class experts and dynamic go-getters. This is a full-time position based in Vancouver, British Columbia.\nWe are seeking an intermediate-level Process Engineer to join our team. This role is based in Vancouver and follows a hybrid work model, requiring two days per week in the office.\nThe process engineer will lead or work with other lead engineers on the process design for projects and proposals in accordance with design standards or “understood” acceptable practices.\nWe are seeking candidates with hands-on process engineering experience in electrochemical processes, including but not limited to chlor-alkali, sodium chlorate, and chlorine dioxide production. Experience in plant design, commissioning, troubleshooting, and providing technical support within industrial operating environments in these processes is considered a strong asset. Work is performed under guidance of the Process Engineering Manager. The process engineer may also provide guidance, supervision and mentoring of EITs or less experienced engineers on projects and proposals.\nResponsibilities:\nDevelop solutions to complex problems that require a high degree of innovation and ingenuity.\nParticipate in the design of a process plant, including establishing process design basis, development of process options, and optimization of selected design.\nCalculate and organize information for the process design including instrumentation and control considerations.\nDirect the preparation of required documentation for assigned projects and proposals including development of PFD’s, P&ID’s and Process data sheets.\nEnsure successful completion of the assigned project deliverables within the budgeted time and costs.\nMaintain effective communication with project team members and with the customer to meet their needs.\nIdeal Candidate\nDirect experience in either chlor-alkali, sodium chlorate or chlorine dioxide technology preferred.\nBrings practical experience in one or more of Worley Chemetics’ core technology areas.\nDemonstrated experience with process plant improvement, start-up, and/or troubleshooting.\nCan independently lead process design tasks while mentoring junior engineers.\nWhat you will bring:\nTechnical and Industry Experience:\nMinimum of 5 to 10 years of applicable engineering experience required.\nExcellent oral and written communication skills required.\nExperience in design/operation at large industrial plants or through plant designs in the chlorine dioxide, chlor-alkali and/or sodium chlorate / chlorite industries.\nGood communication (written and verbal), presentation and interpersonal skills required to engage directly with team and with clients.\nAbility to work under tight timelines which require strong organization and time management skills required.\nInternational travel will be required for project review meetings, commissioning, and technical services assignments.
