Leveraging extensive experience and AI-enabled delivery, we support customers in navigating complexity as they meet today's needs and transition to more sustainable solutions.\nPurpose:\nThe Project Manager will act as an owner's representative for our client's Specialty Materials department managing the execution of capital investments through their entire life cycles in areas assigned, including: scope development, risk assessments, budgeting, engineering/design, procurement, construction execution, commissioning, startup, and project closure documentation. This is a full-time position based onsite in Metropolis, Illinois. Local candidates from Metropolis, IL or Paducah, Kentucky are preferred.\nResponsibilities:\nEnsure the safe execution of all projects managed or in assigned areas, while working with appropriate HSE personnel ensuring all government agency requirements are satisfied.\nIntegrate plant personnel into the capital project management process to ensure results that meet the needs of the project stakeholders.\nWork closely with the business development analysts and site controllers to provide project evaluation and economic analysis on the capital investments for such managed projects. Manage the overall effort leading to an approved Appropriation Request (AR).\nProvide support for the Business Strategic Planning, Annual Operating Plan and Six Sigma Initiatives to develop appropriate capital plans/budgets.\nMonitor and control projects to meet the stated AR objectives and commitments.\nDemonstrate working knowledge of Project Controls (Estimating, Scheduling, Cost Control, and Earned Value Management).\nMaintain accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting and management of capital expenditures on a continuous basis.\nInterface with key site and company personnel to make maximum use of available resources. Such functions will include, but are not limited to, site engineering resources, purchasing, operations, systems, and business engineering, as well as equipment vendors, and contracting firms.\nParticipate in Site Leadership Team meetings as the representative for Capital Project Engineering as needed.\nEnsure necessary site eMOC, MST items and PSSR requirements are processed on projects assigned and as required.\nOversee appropriate maintenance and records of all drawings, specifications, programs, and other documentation for such managed projects, manage proper turnover to plant resources during closure.\nAdvocate for strong safety awareness program with consistent implementation of policies and procedures and participate in construction safety audits and contractor safety meetings.\nMentor less experienced Project Managers and Engineers.\nOversee project teams of Solstice or Contract employees.\nDeliver projects on time, in accordance with the scopes of the projects and within targeted costs.\nUse SAP, EcoSys, and project management tools to cost-estimate, plan and execute projects.\nUse and obtain approvals for Change Orders to reflect changes to the project plans.\nIdentify all internal/external resources for successful project execution, and ensure the necessary resources are assigned to the project appropriately by their respective managers.\nCoordinate all project activities between internal process design team, design houses, and contractors.\nEnsure customer satisfaction requirements and final process design package standards are met.\nRegularly report project progress to managers and project stakeholders. Identify any problems with cost over-runs or schedule delays.\nMaintain effective communication among internal process design team and contractors during the term of the projects.\nPrepare bid packages and requests for quotes for materials, equipment, and services.\nPrepare SOW packages for design activities/engineering, construction, equipment bidding, startup activities etc.\nKey Success Factors:\nAchieve World Class safety performance on all assigned capital project.\nTimely and effectively communicate within all levels of the organization.\nDemonstrate the ability to form and lead teams in the resolution of problems and the application of sustained solutions.\nDemonstrate excellent people and project management skills.\nCustomer Focus - Dedication to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.\nWhat you will bring\nTechnical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:\nMinimum 4 years’ experience of increasingly related responsibilities in capital project management and execution processes.\nManufacturing experience in chemical plants preferred.\nStrong working knowledge of plant operations, maintenance and processes preferred.\nExperience in the management of financial budgets, projects, troubleshooting, team building, and overall leadership.\nExperience working with contract engineering firms.\nPrior experience with SAP is preferred\nSix Sigma Greenbelt (or Blackbelt) certification or equivalent experience implementing productivity / continuous improvement projects.\nFormal training and certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred. \nEducation - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:\nRequired:\nBS degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering preferred.\nMoving forward together\nWe want our people to be energized and empowered to drive sustainable impact.
