Our team includes world-class experts and dynamic go-getters. This is a full-time position based at Kitimat, British Columbia. The successful candidate is required to reside within the local region full-time.\nBased at our long-standing client site in Terrace, British Columbia, this leadership role is accountable for the overall project success, ensuring delivery is on time, within budget, and meets all technical, safety, and quality standards. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills, deep technical knowledge, and a proven track record in managing multidisciplinary teams and contractors in the MMM sector.\nResponsibilities:\nLeadership and Accountability\nSingle Point of Accountability: Hold ultimate responsibility for the successful completion and handover of assigned projects, from initiation through closeout.\nTeam Management: Lead, mentor, and motivate large, integrated project teams, including Engineering, Procurement, Project Controls, Construction Management, and Quality Assurance personnel.\nStakeholder Management: Manage all communication and relationships with internal stakeholders (Executive Leadership, Operations) and external parties (Contractors, Vendors, Regulatory Agencies).\nProject Execution and Control\nScope Definition & Management: Define the project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring effective control of scope changes via the formal Change Management process.\nCost and Schedule Management: Establish the project baseline budget and integrated master schedule (working closely with Project Controls). Monitor performance, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to ensure the project remains on track.\nRisk Mitigation: Proactively identify, analyze, and manage project risks and opportunities throughout the lifecycle to minimize negative impacts and maximize value.\nHSE & Quality: Ensure that all project activities strictly adhere to corporate Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and that quality standards are met according to specifications.\nContracts and Procurement\nContract Strategy: Define the project contracting strategy and manage contract execution (e.g., EPC, EPCM, Lump Sum, Unit Rate).\nContractor Oversight: Manage and administer contracts with major contractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with terms, conditions, and schedules.\nFinancial Reporting: Oversee the financial performance of the project, including cash flow, forecasting, invoicing, and reporting on Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics.\nWhat you will bring:\nTechnical and Industry Experience:\nProgressive experience in managing capital projects, with at least 15 years in a Senior Project Manager role.\nDirect, verifiable experience managing projects within the Mining, Metals, Heavy Industrial Construction sector is mandatory.\nProven expertise in project delivery methods, contract management, and strong working knowledge of Project Controls (scheduling, cost estimating, risk management).\nExceptional leadership, negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills (written and verbal).\nExperience with large, multi-site project management.\nAdvanced proficiency with integrated project management systems (e.g., SAP, EcoSys, Primavera P6).\nEducation - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:\nRequired:\nBachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.\nProfessional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in British Columbia.\nFor applicants based in the province of British Columbia, the salary range is $141,845 to $191,845 CND.\nApplication of the pay band: Variation in salary is determined by factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.\nMoving forward together\nWe want our people to be energized and empowered to drive sustainable impact.
