Leveraging extensive experience and AI-enabled delivery, we support customers in navigating complexity as they meet today's needs and transition to more sustainable solutions.\nPurpose\nThe Senior Functional Safety Engineer, will be responsible for Safety Instrumented System (SIS) and functional safety activities across targeted industries, including the development of deliverables throughout the IEC 61511 SIS safety lifecycle. Key deliverables include Safety Requirements Specifications (SRS), SIF SRS datasheets, SIL verification calculations, and SIF proof-test procedures.\nThis role requires strong technical expertise, excellence in project delivery, and a client-focused approach with excellent English communication skills. The successful candidate will collaborate across Worley Consulting offices in Canada, the United States, and Latin America. Willingness to adjust the working hours with reasonable accommodations to partially overlap the time zones in Americas will be a key requirement.\nThis is a full-time hybrid position based in India or Bogota.\nThe Role\nAs a Safety Engineer Level II with Worley, you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.\nParticipate in designing and implementing automation systems for oil & gas and process industry projects, focused primarily on Functional Safety and Safety Lifecycle requirements.\nExperience in Functional Safety within the process industry including, knowledge of IEC 61511 standard, development of Functional Safety Management Plan, developing Safety Requirements Specification and SIF SRS Datasheets and participation in Safety Reviews (e.g.\nFunctional Safety Assessments).\nPHA/LOPA experience preferred\nSIS hardware and programming experience across multiple platforms preferred (Triconex, Honeywell SM etc).\nInstrumentation & Controls, and System Integration experience highly preferred.\nHolds a valid certification and or certificate in Functional Safety (IEC-61511) issued by one or more of the following programs Exida (CFSP / CFSE), ISA(SFS), TÜV Rheinland (FSEng), TÜV SUD (FSP)\nSIL verification calculations experience with at least one commonly used industrial software (e.g. exSILentia/ aeShield/ Kennexis etc) highly preferred.\nExperience developing SIF Proof Test/Validation Procedures.\nExcellent English communication and listening skills.\nAbout You\nTo be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:\nAt least ten years of experience delivering projects with focus on functional safety principles and developing and integrating multi-technology solutions.\nBachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical, chemical, electronic, mechanical, or a related engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.\nAdditional Information:\nWorley Consulting offers a competitive remuneration and benefits package, a friendly, professional, dynamic, and flexible work environment, and opportunities to develop your career locally and internationally.\nWe strive to lead the industry in health, safety, and environmental performance.
