The role is required to be based at site full time and can transition to a hybrid role once familiarised with the role and project.\nWork on some of Australia’s most significant industrial assets, partnering with industry-leading operations to deliver innovative engineering solutions, major projects and critical operational support.\nResponsibilities\nDeliver mechanical engineering services that meet Worley, client, statutory and regulatory requirements.\nUndertake engineering design and technical verification of discipline deliverables.\nDevelop fit-for-purpose solutions from concept to as-built, considering safety, sustainability, constructability, operability, maintainability and decommissioning.\nIdentify and manage safety hazards and asset lifecycle risks, ensuring relevant actions are closed out.\nIdentify issues, develop practical solutions and seek support where required.\nPerform and/or manage discipline engineering activities, including scope control, calculations, drawings, documentation, checking, project reviews, HAZIDs/HAZOPs and safety in design workshops.\nPrepare mechanical engineering estimates for RFQs, including scope, methodology, assumptions, exclusions, deliverables, schedule inputs and resourcing requirements.\nContribute to continuous improvement of Worley engineering systems, processes, practices and procedures.\nIn a project lead capacity:\nManage engineering task sequencing to support project schedules, including third-party activities.\nAct as the primary client interface for discipline-specific engineering matters.\nMaintain technical integrity through checking, design reviews and quality control.\nProvide technical direction, supervision and resource coordination for engineering and design.\nDeliver discipline outputs on schedule and budget while managing change control, technical queries, progress reporting, files and squad checks.\nCandidate criteria\nTertiary qualifications with a 4-year Bachelor degree in Engineering majoring in Mechanical Engineering.\nMinimum 8 years technical experience in the Refinery/Mining Industry or similar industry; including experience leading projects on a discipline level.\nExtensive experience (>5 years recent) in brownfield processing plants / refineries, preferably in the Alumina industry.\nMust have ability to work across multiple projects.\nExperience across all phases of engineering projects.\nGood understanding and proven experience in:Equipment layout\nDesign of pump and piping systems\nFluid system analysis and design particularly of slurry systems\nPipe stress analysis\nDesign of pressure equipment\nDesign of materials handling equipment\nRead and interpret drawings, including general mechanical, piping and P&ID drawings.\n\nCompetent in the use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite and discipline specific software including:AFT Fathom / Fluid Flow 3\nNon compressible and compressible fluid system analysis\nNavisworks\nBluebeam / Adobe Suite\n\nAbout us\nWorley is a global company of energy, chemicals and resources experts headquartered in Australia.
