Our team includes world class experts and dynamic go-getters. This is a full-time position based in Oakville, Ontario.\nWorley is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer based in Oakville, Ontario, with experience in sizing, selection, preparing specifications, purchasing, installation, inspection, testing, and operation of mechanical equipment in mining, metals, and minerals (MMM) processing plants, as well as leading mechanical engineering teams on projects. The Senior Engineer plays a critical role in project execution, vendor coordination, and technical decision-making. In Worley Canada East, you will report to the Manager of the Mechanical and Piping Engineering Department, and you will work on various minerals, mining, and metals projects with the rest of the project team and customers while upholding Worley’s standards for safety and technical excellence.\nSelf-motivated individuals with a desire to solve complex engineering problems, who show effective team leadership and communication skills will be ideally suitable for this role.\nResponsibilities:\nProvide senior-level mechanical engineering involvement in projects from concept to completion, and make expert contributions in equipment selection, system integration, and operational efficiency.\nEvaluate and select appropriate sizes and specifications for mining, metals, and minerals processing equipment.\nEnsure all designs and technical specifications meet industry regulations, environmental standards, and safety protocols.\nDeliver mechanical engineering services that meet Worley’s, its customers’, and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.\nContribute to technical and value engineering studies.\nPrepare technical specifications, data sheets, and vendor drawings and data requirements (VDDR) for mechanical equipment.\nPrepare project scopes of work and equipment RFQs (Requests for Quotation).\nPerform technical bid evaluations leading to a recommendation and ultimate purchase of the equipment or selection of contractors.\nPerform engineering calculations with regard to sizing the equipment.\nLiaise, where needed, with suppliers during the purchase of equipment.\nBe familiar with applicable codes, regulations, and standards.\nReview shop drawings and attend inspections as required.\nIdentify and report changes to study/project scope.\nKeep up to date with the latest developments and technical innovations in mechanical engineering.\nStamp project deliverables (if required).\nProvide guidance, mentorship, and technical oversight to junior engineers and design teams.\nParticipate in regulatory audits, client meetings, and quality assurance activities.\nParticipate in risk assessments, design reviews, and constructability evaluations.\nMulti-office work with project teams in other Worley offices may occur across different time zones, so working outside standard hours may be required.\nOccasional field walkdowns in operating plants and construction sites with regard to project tasks may be required.
