You will contribute to the safe, efficient, and compliant design and execution of piping systems, while providing technical guidance to junior engineers and designers and supporting multi-disciplinary project teams.\nThe Senior Piping Engineer role is suited to an experienced piping engineer who can work independently on complex scopes, contribute to discipline leadership on projects, and support the continued technical development of the piping function within Worley.\nKey Responsibilities\nEngineering & Technical Delivery\nDeliver piping engineering services in accordance with Worley, customer, and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, on time and within budget.\n\nDevelop and review piping design deliverables including:\nSpecifications, data sheets, material take-offs, calculations, and technical reports\n\nPiping layouts, isometrics, line lists, and tie-in schedules\n\nParticipate in and contribute to technical studies, design reviews, HAZIDs/HAZOPs, and constructability reviews.\n\nApply sound engineering judgement to resolve complex piping design challenges and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.\n\nProject Execution & Interface\nSupport procurement, construction, and commissioning activities, including:\nPreparation of material requisitions and technical bid evaluations\n\nVendor data review and technical clarifications\n\nResponding to RFIs and supporting site queries\n\nPrepare and manage piping deliverables across all project phases (concept, FEED, detailed design, and execution).\n\nAssist with the development of proposals, estimates, work plans, schedules, and resource forecasts.\n\nIdentify, document, and support management of scope changes, risks, and technical issues.\n\nCollaboration & Leadership\nProvide technical guidance and mentoring to intermediate and junior piping engineers and designers.\n\nCoordinate with other disciplines (process, mechanical, structural, electrical, I&C, and project management) to ensure integrated and constructible designs.\n\nCommunicate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.\n\nWhen required, act as Piping Discipline Lead for small to medium-sized projects or defined scopes within larger projects.\n\nContinuous Improvement\nMaintain up-to-date knowledge of piping engineering standards, codes, technologies, and industry best practices.\n\nContribute to the development and improvement of piping design standards, tools, and work processes within Worley.\n\nPromote a strong culture of safety, quality, and technical excellence.\n\nQualifications - What You Will Bring\nTechnical & Industry Experience\nSignificant and relevant piping engineering experience in energy, chemicals, mining, or industrial projects.\n\nStrong technical capability in piping system design and engineering, with the ability to deliver accurate, high-quality work independently.\n\nWorking knowledge of piping design fundamentals and interfaces with other engineering disciplines.\n\nSolid understanding of applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements, including:\nABSA requirements for piping design and registration\n\nASME / ASTM piping and materials standards\n\nCSA pipeline standards (asset)\n\nExperience supporting EPC / EPCM projects across multiple project phases (concept through execution).\n\nFamiliarity with piping stress analysis (asset).\n\nExperience as a discipline lead or technical focal point on small to medium-sized projects (asset).\n\nProficiency with piping engineering and design tools, along with standard engineering software (e.g., MS Office).\n\nCommunication & Professional Skills\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\n\nAbility to collaborate effectively in multi-disciplinary teams.\n\nSound judgement, problem-solving ability, and a proactive approach to technical challenges.\n\nDemonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.\n\nEducation, Accreditation & Eligibility\nRequired:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.\n\nProfessional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation with APEGA (or eligibility to obtain).\n\nLegal authorization to work in Canada (Canadian citizen or permanent resident).\n\nMoving forward together\nWe’re committed to building a diverse, inclusive and respectful workplace where everyone feels they belong, can bring themselves, and are heard.
