In this role, you will be responsible for managing and mentoring a team of engineers and designers, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and efficient delivery across oil, gas, and chemical projects. This includes guiding technical directions, reviewing deliverables, and driving performance to meet project objectives, safety standards, and client expectations.\nTypically, managing multiple small projects, and single medium project or a portion of a large or mega project within the organization and/or for customers, with daily operational responsibilities. Works with multi-disciplined project team members to develop technical/functional solutions to strategic project objectives.\nPurpose:\nResponsible for coordination of project plans, contractual arrangements, schedules, activities, and milestones in accordance with the established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements approved by Worley. Supervises project personnel through subordinate leaders. Bridges the technical gap between the Project Manager and Engineers. Often functions as assistant project manager with an engineering background. Ascertains that engineering work is done according to plan by helping with design interpretation. Reviews bill of materials/project schedules/forecasts for accuracy. This role would apply to those with an engineering background.\nResponsibilities:\nDecision Making\nMake independent decisions and sets priorities related to complex situations based on established guidelines, taking into account the cost and schedule impact to the project.\nSupervision Received\nWorks with self-initiated interaction with supervisor and self-initiated technical guidance. Influence over duties. Work is assigned only in terms of broad objectives to be accomplished, and is reviewed for policy, soundness of approach and general effectiveness. Work is reviewed to ensure conformity with project, policy and for coordination of other Worley departments.\nSupervision Authority\nAssigns project work and gives technical guidance to people assigned to work on their projects. Reviews work for technical accuracy and adequacy. May have direct reports and authority for performance evaluations impacting pay. May make recommendations concerning selection, training, rating and discipline of people.\nLeadership\nDefines and selects team required to deliver scope of work.\nEffectively leads project team comprised of multi-discipline/ multi-location members.\nSets clear objectives for the project team including scope, schedule, productivity and budget targets.\nOversees, motivates and monitors the performance of the team, ensuring quality and timeliness of assignments and roles, and addresses any performance gaps.\nImplements communication tools and process to ensure all team members are informed about project status and key performance indicators.\nDemonstrates the ability to build support for ideas, presenting alternatives and recommendations persuasively.\nFinancial Acumen\nApplies in-depth knowledge of customer contract to the oversight and management of the project.\nStrong understanding and application of business drivers, financial reporting standards.\nProject design deliverables and design quantities are tracked and analyzed.\nUnderstands project cost buildup including gross margin.\nTracks cost and schedule and uses analytical skill to forecast trends.\nEnsures proper change control processes are understood and used by the project team.\nExecution Planning & Performance\nTranslates contract requirements for project scope into Worley scope of services and deliverables.\nEnsures project schedules and resource plans are developed and utilized in managing the project tasks.\nManages execution, coordination, and implements regular reviews/controls to track project progress.\nDevelops action plans to address project tasks and issues.\nGood understanding of Project Control Reports and identified problem areas.\nExperienced in successful multi-office workshare execution.\nPromotes Value Creation and Sustainable Solutions objectives for project.\nCustomer & Stakeholder Management\nIdentifies and understands the customer’s key drivers (KPIs).\nManages customer representatives (established relationship) and other significant stakeholders.\nManages and nurtures customer and stakeholder relationships based on established expectations and communication protocols.\nNurtures relationships with external vendors and suppliers, communicating key project drivers.\nDevelops a relationship of trust and respect with ability to discuss project progress, challenges and issues in a transparent manner.\nRisk & Opportunity Management\nIdentifies potential risks or new risks as the project progresses and effectively develops risk mitigation, contingency and resolution plans.\nFollows Worley risk management procedures.\nKeeps detailed project risk register that stays current and is tracked & communicated on a regular basis (at least monthly).\nUtilizes Risk Register items as the basis for any project contingency budget.\nWhat you will bring\nTechnical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:\nAdvanced understanding Worley Management and Knowledge Systems, processes and tools. Able to assist others and troubleshoot issues. Competent in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint. Can organize information from many sources and retain as per the prescribed format and policies.Competent in Microsoft Access and Visio.\n\nDemonstrates full commitment to all health and safety matters and provides safety leadership to project team.\nSatisfies all requirements of project safety compliance including Safety by Design, Constructability and Maintainability.\nHas participated in Constructability, Operability and Maintainability Workshops.\nEnsures Worley methodologies, processes, tools and systems are used throughout the project and compliance requirements are met/satisfied.\nApplies knowledge of all aspects of a project (engineering, procurement, quality control, etc.) to oversee the successful execution of the project plan.\nEnsures design team is aware of and complying with customer Basis of Design and applicable codes and regulations.\nDemonstrates attention to detail.\nDemonstrated understanding of EPC project delivery workflow and coordination.\nBasic exposure and understanding of procurement/subcontracting and on-site construction support.\nEffectively communicate and take a leadership role in preparing and presenting proposals and reports to staff and management.\nClearly communicates project requirements, deliverables and expectations with the project team.\nAs technical customer interface, proactively addresses technical coordination issues.\nCreates an environment for open communication and collaboration.\nKeeps all stakeholders informed of project status.\nResolves issues and conflicts within the project team.\nAt least 12 years in petrochemical and refining with project design, execution, construction.\nOil and gas experience. \nRefinery experience\nEducation - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:\nRequired:\nUniversity degree or equivalent in engineering.\nPreferred:\nLicensed Professional Engineer.\nMoving forward together\nWe want our people to be energized and empowered to drive sustainable impact.
