We assist with asset strategy and selection, business case preparation, concept and feasibility studies, technology evaluation, energy strategies and asset operational excellence.\nThis position supports Worley Consulting’s Autonomous Mining & Technology initiatives by providing high-quality technical solutions, documentation, analytical support, and coordination across Mine Automation & Technology projects, across Canada, the U.S., and South American clients.\nPurpose\nTheUnderground Mining Automation & Autonomous Systems Engineer provides technical engineering expertise and consulting support for automation and autonomous systems in underground mining operations. The role supports clients through technology assessments, frontend studies, system definition, and project execution related to automation- and autonomy-enabled underground mining environments.\nThis position requires hands-on underground mining experience with strong understanding of automation, control systems, and digital mining technologies, delivering robust, reliable, secure fit-for-purpose solutions that improve safety, reliability, productivity, and operational readiness of underground operations.\nThis is a full-time hybrid position based at a Worley office location in Canada or the U.S.\nOverall Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities\nSupport Mining Automation and Technology Subject Matter Experts across autonomous mining and technology projects.\nCreate, consolidate, and maintain high-quality technical deliverables including reports, market analysis, presentations, and automation deliverables for the client.\nEnsure consistency and alignment of technical content with project requirements and standards.\nAnalyze and interpret technical information to support decision-making and recommendations.\nSupport execution of assigned work packages with a high level of independence.\nCollaborate with multidisciplinary project teams across mining, telecom, mechatronics, digital, automation, and consulting disciplines.\nProvide clear and effective written and verbal communication to internal and external stakeholders.\nApply Worley processes, systems, and quality requirements consistently.\nSupport continuous improvement of documentation workflows and knowledge management practices.\nApproximately 25% travel is expected.
