We strive to create a supportive community where every person is valued, heard, and cared for with dignity and respect.\nPosition Summary\nThe Medical Coordinator Assistant (MA) plays a supportive role in promoting the health, recovery, and daily stability of clients enrolled in Recuperative Care programs. Under the supervision of the Medical Coordinator (LVN) and clinical team, this position assistswith client health monitoring, supports self-administration of medications, coordinates follow- up care, and ensures accuratedocumentation in the electronic health record. The MA helps create a safe and trauma-informed environment for clients recovering from illness or injury while experiencing homelessness.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nConduct daily well-being checks and support medical intake processes for new clients under clinical supervision.\nAssistwith scheduling and coordinating medical and behavioral health appointments, diagnostics, and follow-up visits.\nSupport clients in medication self-administration and monitor adherence to care plans.\nDocument all health-related interactions, medication logs, and care coordination in the EHR; ensure accuracy and timeliness.\nProvide basic health education to clients, reinforcing medication adherence, hygiene, and preventive care practices.\nCommunicate changes in client condition or care plan adherence to the Medical Coordinator or clinical supervisor promptly.\nParticipate in daily huddles and weekly interdisciplinary team (IDT) meetings to support integrated client care.\nMaintain a safe and clean environment; assistwith facility upkeep and infection control.\nCollaborate with case managers, behavioral health staff, and housing teams to support holistic client recovery.\nEnsure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and WPCC policies and procedures.\nSupport tracking ofprogram metrics and client health outcomes as directed by the Medical Coordinator or Director.\nQualifications and Requirements Education\nHigh School Diploma or GED (required)\nCertified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or EMT certification (required)\nExperience\nMinimum 1 year of experience in a clinical, shelter, or social services setting\n(preferred)\nExperience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, chronic illness, or behavioral health challenges (preferred)\nFamiliarity with EHR systems and multidisciplinary care support\nCertifications or Licenses\nCMA, RMA, or EMT certification (required)\nBasic Life Support (BLS) certification (requiredwithin 2 weeks ofhire) Core Competencies\nCompassionate, professional, and empathetic in client interactions, especially with vulnerable populations\nStrong communication, interpersonal, observational, and documentation skills\nCulturally responsive and trauma-informed care approach\nAbility to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm in fast-paced or high-stress situations\nDependable, punctual, and flexible with shift coverage and team needs\nStrong time management and organizational ability\nBasic computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and EHR systems (Athena preferred)\nAwareness of confidentiality standards and adherence to compliance protocols\nWorking Conditions & Physical Requirements\nMust be able to walk between client rooms and onsite facilities regularly\nRequires ability to lift upto 25 lbs. and provide physical support to clients as needed\nWork is performed on-site in a hotel or shelter-based Recuperative Care environment\nMay be exposed to individuals with communicable conditions or behavioral health needs\nOvernight, weekend, and holiday shifts may be requiredbased on program scheduling\nSchedule and Travel Requirements\nFull-time (40 hours/week)\nMust be available for assigned shifts, including overnight and weekends\nOccasional travel to partner clinics or service providers in the San Bernardino area may be required\nEEO / ADA Statement\nWPCC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
