Lauderdale market, is looking for a take-charge professional who can execute a broad range of functions in day-to-day Operations, Cash Applications, Fixed Assets, Financial Statements, and Budget Variance Analysis. \n\nJOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (interacts with Controller and AR Manager): \nTrain in WideOrbit—Broadcast TV’s platform for recording sales, applying payments, and keeping track of accounts receivable.\nProcess and apply daily cash receipts (ACH, checks, credit cards) accurately. Prepare supporting documentation to ensure a complete audit trail for journal entries.\nReconcile daily traffic logs and prepare daily sales pacing reports.\nGenerate billing once a month and prepare revenue journal entries.\nLearn and understand the Revenue/Accounts Receivable process (sales order input, credit approval, credit research, collections, and cash applications) in a TV station.\nPrepare other monthly journal entries and support schedules.\nCalculate monthly accruals, prepaid expenses, music fees, depreciation and amortization schedules, other revenue.\nUpdate excel pivot tables from bank account downloads which are then used to prepare reports for cash disbursement journal entry.\nScan all monthly journal entries and support to a shared drive.\nEnsure financial transactions are performed in compliance with GAAP and company policies.\nFixed Asset Maintenance\nTrain in Sage Fixed assets software\nCompile monthly fixed asset records from vendor payable system to enter fixed asset additions, disposals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules. \nReconcile subsidiary ledgers to GL account in accounting system and update Capital Expenditures file.\nVariance Analysis\nReview historical information and forecast trends. \nReview actuals and compare them to budget and/or prior periods. Explain significant variances between actual and budget and research detail of recorded transactions.\nReconcile balance sheet accounts monthly.\nReconcile bank accounts monthly and investigate discrepancies.\nCollaborate with accounting team on special projects and process improvement initiatives.\nGather supporting documentation for internal and external audits.\nProvide administrative support including filing, copying, emails, and phone calls.\n\nSKILLS/EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED:\nBachelor’s degree in accounting required. Must present proof of degree.\n3+ years of general accounting experience; Strong analytical skills.\nCommunicate effectively both verbally and in writing.\nDeliver accurate results. Perform self-checks to identify errors before submitting final work product.\nDemonstrate effective organizational and time management skills with respect to deadlines. \nWork independently with minimal supervision and/or in collaboration with other team members. Self-motivator.\nAbility to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a sense of urgency. \nExercise good judgment and planning skills. Work ahead. Take advantage of down time to prepare/fulfill future tasks so that the workload does not accumulate at the end of the month.\nDuring Month-end, Quarter-end accounting closings, preparation of Annual Budgets and Special Projects, the goal is to meet deadlines or complete the project in an accurate and timely fashion. Additional hours will be necessary.\nUnderstanding and knowledge of accounting terms, journal entries and financial statements. Knowledge of accounting software systems (e.g. SBS) \nFluency in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint); Pivot tables a plus.\nMedia/broadcast industry familiarity is a plus.\nSome supervisory experience is also preferred.\nMust have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.\n\nWORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nHybrid schedule—requires 3 days in office or more when needed and 2 days remote.
