This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial records, strong controls, timely month-end close, high-quality reconciliations, audit-ready evidence and effective collaboration across Finance teams.\nThis position is also expected to actively contribute to our Finance Transformation journey, helping drive process standardisation, automation, AI adoption and continuous improvement across RTR activities. The role requires a finance professional who combines strong accounting expertise with a transformation mindset and the ability to challenge existing ways of working.\nWhat you'll be doing:\nOwn general ledger accounting activities for assigned entities or processes, including complex journal entries, accruals, prepayments, reclassifications and balance sheet reconciliations.\nCoordinate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities in line with defined timelines, ensuring issues are identified, escalated and resolved on time.\nEnsure accurate and timely posting of accounting entries in the ERP system and challenge unusual, incomplete or unsupported transactions.\nPrepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies, aged items and unusual movements.\nEnsure compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and audit standards, with a strong focus on evidence quality and traceability.\nMaintain and review appropriate documentation and audit trails for internal and external audits.\nSupport financial reporting, variance analysis and accounting reviews, identifying unusual transactions, risks or trends.\nLiaise with other Finance functions (PTP, OTC, Treasury, Tax) and OpCo stakeholders to resolve complex accounting issues.\nAct as a technical reference point for Analyst profiles, supporting knowledge transfer, coaching and process clarification.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to simplify, standardise and automate RTR processes.\nPromote the responsible use of automation, digital finance tools and AI-enabled solutions across accounting, reconciliation, reporting and documentation activities.\nSupport ad-hoc accounting, reporting, audit and transformation requests as required.\nWho you'll be working with:\nFinance Shared Services and Record-to-Report (RTR) teams\nOther Finance functions, including PTP, OTC, Treasury and Tax\nInternal and external auditors\nFinance stakeholders across the business\nOpCo finance teams and regional stakeholders\nProcess improvement, automation and Finance Transformation stakeholders\nWhat you'll need:\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.\nRelevant experience in accounting, RTR, audit or financial reporting within a Shared Services or corporate environment.\nSolid understanding of statutory accounts and disclosure requirements, with proven experience coordinating annual audit processes and reviewing information provided to external auditors.\nProven experience performing and reviewing intercompany reconciliations.\nStrong understanding of accounting principles, with solid exposure to Spanish GAAP and IFRS (including IFRS 16).\nKnowledge or exposure to Belgian GAAP (BE GAAP) and Dutch GAAP / Dutch Financial Reporting Standards (NL GAAP) is highly desirable.\nExperience working with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, BC Media, Maconomy, or similar).\nStrong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with digital finance, automation and AI-enabled tools.\nHigh attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to review and challenge accounting outputs.\nStrong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage deadlines and priorities with limited supervision.\nClear and professional communication skills, with the ability to coordinate stakeholders and explain accounting issues effectively.\nAbility to act as a senior reference point, support Analyst profiles and operate within review and control cycles.\nTransformation mindset, with willingness to improve processes, strengthen controls and adopt new ways of working.\nFluency in English and Spanish\nWho you are:\nYou're open: We are inclusive and collaborative; we encourage the free exchange of ideas; we respect and celebrate diverse views.
